Monks once inhabited Pasabaglari, a valley of hundreds of fairy chimneys rising into the sky. These create a surreal landscape that continues towards Goreme. This valley of complex, rock-carved churches decorated with Byzantine-era frescoes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
