The Basics

Highlights include the Harborplace shopping center, waterfront restaurants serving up fresh seafood and other specialties, and Baltimore’s pyramid-shaped National Aquarium—home to jellyfish, dolphins, and sharks. You can also learn about the city’s seafaring history at the Maritime Museum.

Whether you want to stroll along the promenade or cruise above the city in a helicopter, there are multiple options for exploring Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area. Dinner cruises and yacht charters are a good way to explore Chesapeake Bay, while ghost tours and walking tours typically depart from the Inner Harbor area and include visits to sites such as Key Bridge, Fort McHenry, and the Federal Hill neighborhood.

Had a great time. Captain Tom & his deck hand were very knowledgeable & friendly. The hour & a half spent on the boat went too quickly. Would definitely do it again

The captain was very nice and the lady that was helping knew a lot of history about Baltimore. It really made the experience better to hear all the history of the city. The ride was smooth and I like that they let you explore the whole ship.

Captain Tom and his crew mate, were very hospitable and knowledgeable about the various sites we passed. Captain Tom was forgiving, too, since we were running a couple of minutes behind schedule. You need to BE at the Marina 15 minutes BEFORE setting sail. Thank you Capt. Tom!

Our sailing trip was unfortunately cancelled due to bad weather. But Captain Tom informed us in a timely manner so we were not inconvenienced. He so nicely assured us that we would be receiving a refund shortly. We will try again to take a sailing trip in Baltimore.

We had a problem finding the place due to an old address, but the captain called me back with directions. We cruise was pleasant. The captain didn’t talk the whole time, which we liked, but he answered all questions and was knowledgeable about the area. It was a pleasant experience.

It was fun. Questions were easy. Not enough time to answer once you arrived and started to read. But good time.

When to Get There

The Inner Harbor typically hosts events during spring, summer, and fall. Although summer can be hot and humid, the breeze off Chesapeake Bay cools things off a bit. Baltimore has milder winters than most Northeast cities, so this can still be a pleasant time to explore.
