The Basics

Designed to serve as apartments for some of Barcelona’s more moneyed inhabitants, this remarkable residential building is now part of the Works of Antoni Gaudi UNESCO World Heritage Site. By day, visitors can explore part of the building with the aid of an audio guide (included in the ticket price). Alternatively, visit at night as part of the Gaudi's Pedrera: The Origins experience, when a mesmerizing light show takes place on the roof terrace. Casa Mila is visited on many architectural tours of Barcelona, alongside other Gaudi gems such as La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell.

Gaudi beauty
Was not really necessary at this time to book a ticket as not many tourists around. The place itself is lovely and worth a visit if in Barcelona.

It was a great experience and informative. This building isn’t quite as in your face with colors as some of the other buildings by Gaudi but it’s a beautiful and very unique design. Covid precautions were in place and it was easy to get around.

Casa Mila was one of the best places we visited in Barcelona. Getting the skip-the-line ticket ahead of time was a great idea. Audio guide is also very helpful, short and sweet, great overview of Gaudi’s work. Also enjoyed the attic where Gaudi’s work was arranged. Take time to look at the exhibition at the attic.

Gaudi Private Tour: Skip-the-Line Casa Batllo & Casa Mila-La Pedrera
Great tour with lots to see and learn! First, I'd like to thank Jorge, my guide, for making things in this tour so enjoyable! It turned out that I was the only tourist signed up, but he gave me the tour anyway. Both houses are remarkable. Each one has its own history and "personality." I don't think you can pick and choose which one is better, so I definitely recommend visiting both. Also, given that fact that the covid restrictions were still very much in place during the summer of 2021, I was able to find both houses kind of empty, so the tour was even more enjoyable that way! I'd strongly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about Gaudi's architecture--and personal life as well!

We chose the self-guided tour and there was no line and the English pre-recorded headset was great. We learned more about the genius of Gaudi.

Casa Mila demonstrates how a wealthy family lived at the time. Many innovative building techniques utilized to conserve energy and ventilate multi story building. Experience the architectural genius of Gaudi

The rooftop was a surreal experience. We purchased the self-guided tour so we could linger as long as we liked. You get an appreciation for Gaudi’s genius by the architecture of this magnificent building. The fact that he made it a comfortable and stylish home for the well to do of the period makes it more incredible. The price was a bit steep for a self guided tour, but really when are you gonna have an opportunity to visit an architectural wonder like this?

La Pedrera-Casa Milà Skip the Line Admission Ticket with Audioguide
I had so much trouble trying to book it on the Casa Milà site, so viator saved the day. What an experience! This place is beautiful. If you're into art or architecture, this is a must-see if you're in Barcelona.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Book skip-the-line tickets in advance to avoid long entry lines at Casa Mila.

  • For the ultimate crowd-free experience, opt for an early-access, small-group, guided tour that gets you in before the doors open to the public.

  • The roof terrace provides little shade from Spain’s summer sun, so bring sunscreen and a hat.

  • The onsite Café de la Pedrera, serving hot and cold drinks as well as food, is located on the ground floor.

  • All areas of Casa Mila are wheelchair accessible with the exception of the roof terrace, because of its uneven surfaces.

When to Get There

Casa Mila is open daily year-round from 9am to 8:30pm and from 9 to 11pm. In summer, entry lines often go around the block. The biggest crowds congregate in the middle of the day—avoid them by arriving soon after opening (9am) or in late afternoon (after 4pm).
