Mt. Floyen (Floyfjellet)
Ride the Fløibanen funicular railway, a thrilling 8-minute journey from Bryggen harbor to a lookout point 3,280 feet (one kilometer) from the summit, or explore the mountain’s network of marked trails for views of the surrounding fjords, islands, and hills. Mount Fløyenis also home to the Fløyen Folk Restaurant (Fløien Folkerestaurant), where regular folk music concerts are held in the summer months, as well as a café, shop and children’s playground.

Visitors can buy tickets for the Fløibanen funicular in advance, but there is no need to make reservations for a time slot.
How to Get There
Mount Fløyen lies just outside of the city of Bergen, Norway. The Fløibanen funicular’s lower station is located just 500 feet (150 meters) from Fisketorget (the fish market) and Bryggen Wharf in downtown Bergen. Guided tours typically provide round-trip transportation, including a ride on the funicular railway.
When to Get There
You can experience Mount Fløyen year-round. Sledding is a popular winter activity, while in summer you can hike, zipline, canoe, and mountain bike in the area. Summer visitors should also keep a lookout for cashmere goats that live on the mountain and help trim the weeds.
