The lake usually stays on the plain for about eight months per year and stretches over 20 km2, but at its fullest, the lake covers a surface of 38 km2 - becoming the largest lake in Slovenia. Your tour will take you along the lake's shore on a round trip through the picturesque karst valley of Rakov Škocjan, which was formed when the ceiling of a karst cave collapsed under its own weight. Remnants of the old cave ceiling remain to this day in the form of two natural bridges.
