With umbrellas overhead, we listened to our guide bring the story of the Book of Kells to life. We really enjoyed the details, the history, the beautiful library and books, as well as helping us find the Dublin Castle ‘gems,’ one being the free museum next door. Great! Wouldn’t miss this stop.

The historical information was fascinating and our guide was quite knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the walk to Dublin Castle from Trinity College and seeing the Book of Kells. The only downside is the crowd inside the Kells exhibition and the Trinity Old Library.

Then there's the regal Cahir Castle in Tipperary; Kilkenny Castle with it ornamental gardens; and Trim Castle, which you might have seen in Braveheart.
