The Gap of Dunloe cyclist and bike tour is an ideal way for the active traveller to Killarney to see our National Park in it's entirety. Cyclists will meet the boats at Ross Castle at 10.30am, load up their bikes and get going on their tour through Killarney National Park's 3 lakes and 2 rivers. The tour takes roughly 1.5hrs depending on water levels and weather conditions. Upon arrival at Lord Brandon's Cottage, Cyclists may have tea/coffee in the cafe before starting the 11km cycle through the Gap of Dunloe. At the end of the Gap, cyclists may stop for lunch and refreshments at the famous Kate Kearney's Cottage Bar & Restaurant. Killarney town is a further 14km. Cyclists should be aware that the Gap of Dunloe road includes steep uphill and downhill sections as well as tight corners. Participants in this tour should be proficient in cycling as the road is open to motor traffic. After Kate Kearney's Cottage, cyclists will be travelling on a minor road with other traffic.
