Robertson Boulevard has gone through many evolutions in its time: the early aughts were arguably the heyday for the shopping street, when paparazzi-baiting starlets like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Kim Kardashian, and Britney Spears flocked to its shops. These days, Robertson has matured, though its diverse mix of boutiques, hipster coffee shops, trendy restaurants, and exercise studios draw crowds of locals and visitors alike.
Robertson Boulevard is a popular stop on Hollywood bike tours, and, given its A-lister accolades, features on celebrity-spotting excursions. Given its proximity to other shopping streets like Rodeo Drive and Melrose Avenue, it’s also easy to plan an independent visit to indulge in some retail therapy.
Though Robertson Boulevard stretches for close to six miles, the street’s most coveted segment is located between Beverly Boulevard and Third Street, and links Beverly Hills with West Hollywood. The thoroughfare is served by several local bus lines, including the 16, 17, and 316. Robertson Boulevard offers little in the way of parking; traveling via rideshare service is recommended.
Robertson Boulevard is busiest during the day, when its boutiques and designer outlets are open, and when celebrities come to see and be seen dining behind the Ivy’s white picket fence. Visit on a sunny day when you can stroll the sidewalks, window shop, and see where the paparazzi's lenses are pointed.
Though Robertson Boulevard has featured a rotating cast of brands over the last few decades, a few timeless spots are always worth visiting, including the Ivy, Kitson (an eclectic boutique long favored by celebrities), and Chanel. Newer, popular stops include Blue Bottle Coffee, high-end restaurant The Henry, French brand The Kooples, and dessert chain Georgetown Cupcake. The street is also just a few blocks from the Beverly Center: one of LA’s largest and most-visited shopping malls.
