Baiguate Waterfall (Salto de Baiguate)

The Basics
Easily reached via a canyon trail, suspension bridges, and a set of wooden steps, Baiguate cascades into a deep, cold pool of jade-colored water. Full-day tours to Baiguate typically include stops at the area’s other two cascades—Jimenoa Falls 1 and 2—and some canyon tours include a rappel down the Baiguate. The area around Baiguate Waterfall is also a hub of outdoor adventure, where travelers come to take advantage of white-water rafting tours, hiking adventures, horseback riding, and more.

Baiguate Waterfall is located about a 10-minute drive from the mountain resort town of Jarabacoa and a roughly 3-hour drive south of Puerto Plata proper. There's a parking area near the falls, which you can reach via a short hike down an adjoining path.
