The Basics

Darling Harbour is a staple of both Sydney sightseeing cruises and hop-on hop-off bus tours, which typically also stop at city highlights such as Sydney Opera House and Bondi Beach. However, you easily can dedicate an entire day to Darling Harbour itself. Maximize your time by booking a skip-the-line admission ticket to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, which can get busy.

Just what I wanted!!
Colin made me feel right at home on his beautiful boat. He communicated well, was a great captain, and has more information about the area than any one person should be able to keep in his head!! It was a great day and I recommend it highly. Thanks for the memories Colin!!

Private Sunset Cruise on Sydney Harbour for up to Six Guests
Great trip. Glen, our captain, was very friendly and accommodating. It’s the best way to experience the harbour. Highly recommend it.

Vivid 90-Minute Sydney Harbour Catamaran Cruise with BYO Drinks
After having battled the overcrowding on larger boats cruising around Vivid in previous years, it was refreshing to be on a small boat with personal contact with the very friendly and efficient crew. It was extremely good value for money and I would be definitely recommending it to others.

Fantastic personal service. Relaxed and friendly staff and smaller number of people provided for a great time and memories. Thank you.

Vivid 90-Minute Sydney Harbour Intimate Catamaran Cruise with Canapes
Very well looked after by the crew on board, 90 minutes around the two main harbours for the light festival. There was a steady supply of nibbles (just oven heated sausage rolls etc but what do you expect from a small boat kitchen?) And the boat wasn't too crowded.

When to Get There

Although there’s plenty to do at the harbor in the day, Darling Harbour itself is at its most magical at night, when waterfront skyscrapers illuminate and reflect into the still water below. For the best nighttime views, admire the harbor from Pyrmont Bridge.
