The Basics

The Sydney Opera House is a highlight of any city tour or harbor cruise, and it’s well worth an up-close look, too. It’s best explored as part of a guided tour, either a guided walking option that hits highlights of the building's history and architecture or an in-depth tour that goes backstage to concert halls, green rooms, and studios usually off-limits to visitors.

Given that this is a functioning performance venue, visitors can also experience the Opera House by attending a show, whether pairing a theater performance with dinner as part of an evening package, or dining along the waterfront before a night of ballet.

I loved touring the inside and outside of the Opera House. It was beautiful. A very interesting design with so much fascinating history, controversy, sadness and triumph! I would definitely recommend when visiting Sydney.

Sydney Shore Excursion: Sydney Opera House Walking Tour
Very interesting! Seeing all the venues except Performance Hall which was under renovation was so fascinating. The attention to detail with both the structure design and interior design is mind blowing! Our guide, Jessie, was charming and so informative. The history about the architect Otzen and the political turmoil that short changed him was heartbreaking. This is a must do I’m Sydney. Just taking pics of the exterior is just not enough.

A 1 hour, very informative and entertaining tour behind the scenes of this outstanding structure. Our guide David (a former dancer) was very good and really connected with us. We loved his knowledge and engaged the tour group. A highlight of our Sydney trip! The lunch was good too.

Going through the building , during daylight hours and you really notice the 'Raw Nature' of the building. Never knew it was like this= the Timber features are devine , so too the seats.
