![[Tokyo] Ome Kimono Museum](https://media.tacdn.com/media/attractions-splice-spp-360x240/0b/15/76/54.jpg)
[Tokyo] Ome Kimono Museum
The “Ome Kimono Museum” is a museum that holds more than 500 historical kimonos and materials, including daimyo, official residences and costumes of the former royal family from the Edo period.
Kimono is a traditional Japanese cultural property, but there are few museums that specialize in kimono in Japan, so you can enjoy it even more.
Many of the precious costumes we have are so valuable that they will be exhibited in museums and exhibitions at museums nationwide.
The exhibition room is a renovated building that was used 160 years ago, and you can feel a nostalgic atmosphere from its appearance.
There are various kimonos on display, such as imperial costumes, Edo period costumes worn by samurai and merchants, and Edo bride costumes.
In the permanent exhibition, you can see the costumes worn by His Imperial Highnesses Nashimoto Miya in the coronation ceremony, as well as materials donated by former Minoru Higashimiya Samurai Minoru Hamao.

[Tokyo] Sawanoi Comb Kanzashi Museum
"Sawanoi Kushi Kanzashi Museum" is a museum of hair ornaments that mainly exhibits combs and hairpins from Edo to Showa.
The collection of the well-known collector, Tomoyo Okazaki, is inherited all at once, and new items are added for display.
It holds approximately 4,000 items such as combs and hairpins, redboard, hakosekoko, yatate, and wigs.
The history of hair ornaments started in the Jomon period and developed greatly in the Edo period.
Various methods at that time were used to express all phenomena such as Kacho Fugetsu, literature, and performing arts as a design.
You can learn the craftsman's technique, traditional Japanese crafts that have colored women since ancient times, and the history of hair ornaments.
The museum is a 10-minute walk from Sawai Station in Okutama.
You can enjoy Japanese traditional culture in a land where you can feel nature like Tokyo.

Virtual Tour Exploring Japanese Izakaya and Cocktails (30min)
Come as a foreigner, leave as a local, this phrase will be important to remember when stepping into my world. Immerse yourself in the local side of Tokyo and explore hidden Japanese bars where only the locals go.
Your guide has delved into the world of Izakaya for many years. Whats an Izakaya you ask? The literal terms is "inside drinking shop" or just Japanese bars. They are unique and all over Japan, but difficult to enter because many are Japanese only. I call these places my second home and love connecting people with the local scene.
Izakaya are known as Japanese pubs, or the literal term "inside drinking shop" Some are so off-the-grid that even Google Maps doesn’t know of their existence.
We'll be diving into the area of Kichijoji, where many consider it a hot spot among Japanese locals. We will be at a private little Izakaya where it has a laidback vibe and can choose your own music as well!
*Please note that you will only visit one Izakaya on this virtual tour.
