Your 4-hour trip through Rhône Valley wine country begins from Avignon. Take a seat in the comfortable minivan and enjoy scenic views. Along the way, learn about the region's ancient winemaking heritage – originating in Roman times! – and current renown as a premier producer of fine wine.

You’ll visit up to two acclaimed wineries in the world-famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape region, where the prestigious Appellation d'Origine Controlée (AOC) regulations were developed. As you travel, listen to your expert guide describe the grape varieties that thrive in this region, including Grenache, Cinsault and Counoise.

While at each winery, you’ll learn more about strictly preserved wine-making techniques, stroll through the cellars stacked with barrels of maturing wine, and enjoy a tasting session of several beautiful samples. Immerse yourself in the sensory experience of wine-tasting from taking in the color and aroma to identifying the complex flavor notes on your palate. Afterward, spend time strolling the vineyards and admiring gorgeous views of the centuries-old castles and mansions that dot the Rhône Valley.

By the end, you’ll better understand the rich ecology of the Rhône Valley and the art of viticulture in southern France.

We ‘ve had an amazing experience! The wine tasting tour was excellent (we’ve tried some great wines), very professional and well organized. On top of that we’ve had the best tour guide ever (Sylvia)!!

We booked this tour extremely last minute and this was essentially the only option available. I didn’t have high expectations going in based on the description or reviews, but still don’t feel we got value for money. Pros: Our tour guide was fab and took us to a vineyard to check out the soil and take some pictures before our first tasting. We left on time, returned on time and only had one other couple with us. Florence at our second stop - he runs the tasting program at Maison Bouachon and gave us a really good tasting experience. Definitely more for beginners but we appreciated it nonetheless. Cons: The first tasting at Brotte- the wine museum - was very basic and also free for anyone who shows up. The museum tour was interesting but also somewhat lengthy when really we wanted to learn high level about the area and get into the wines. Both tastings were inside at the tasting bar 30 seconds apart from each other and there were no vineyard views in sight. This maybe common of the area but would have been nice to enjoy one tasting with a view or in a different location. Appreciate you’re somewhat limited with time, but even still. Both places we visited started with education on the area - which would make sense if we were just going to one place. But as we’d just literally spent 30 mins going through the whole history of the area at Brotte I’d have preferred if we just got into the specifics of the wine at the winery at the second stop. Didn’t really feel well planned by the tour company. The second wine tasting only cost €9 (a great deal if you drive there yourself because it was a good experience!). So in total we paid €159 for €9 worth of wine tasting over a 4 hour period which in total maybe amounted to a glass and a half of wine. Sure, we were also paying for the bus and our guide, but based on this my husband and I concluded we’d have been better off renting a car for the day and going by ourselves. We wanted to taste in the area and are happy we got to have that experience, but in future would book a tour with more variety or simply drive ourselves.

Our guide was lovely, unfortunately my friend had a bit of heat stroke because it was a very hot day for the time of year, but she made sure we were looked after. Both the vignobles were brilliant with excellent insights. Really enjoyed our experience!

Having loved Chateauneuf du Pape my whole adult life I could not be this close to the area and not stop in for a few sips. This half day tour was the perfect trip to get a look at the growing, preparation and fermentation methods used in making this classic wine. Mark our Driver and guide was informative and entertaining as he provided tons of information about the region, climate conditions, how mistral winds play an integral part and of course the river stone, everywhere. We tasted multiple bottles from 2 different vineyards all us us debating which we liked best, always turns out to be the most expensive one. Great half day trip. Got back to Avignon, had some lunch and spent the rest of the day sightseeing there.

Your guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and organized. I wish we had spent less time in Orange and more time in wineries. Maybe 2 wineries instead of 1. But nonetheless, we had fun. Thank you.

This was a good tour if you know very little about wine. It's a nice intro and you get a basic rundown of the region. If you know anything about wine and have a decent palate and would like to experience the area, then maybe try something else. I was traveling with my grandmother who knows nothing about wine and just barely started drinking it, while I have been to several wine regions of the world and know what I like and can tell good wine from bad wine for the most part. It worked for her, which was all that mattered to me, but if I had been on my own I definitely would not have enjoyed it. It's all a matter of where you're coming from.

Well, our tour guide, Julien, was super-friendly and informative along the route. We were picked up at our hotel in a minivan that was more than clean and comfortable. We did ask for water, however, and there was none available. Given the very hot temperatures, it would have been a lovely perk to have been offered bottled water along the way. I only did a half-day tour, which included two wineries in Chateauneuf du Pape. The first, Brotte, included an audio self-guided tour of a petit museum within the winery that was helpful but actually somewhat duplicative of what Julien had already told us. The second, Bouachon, was more interesting in my opinion. There was a young woman, Natalie, who presented a little lesson in wine tasting not for the pros but for beginners that was interesting and the wine tasting a wonderful experience. Overall, it was a very good tour and would recommend it! Enjoy.

Great time! recommend for anyone who is interested in wine. Everybody involved from the tour guide to the reps at the winery were very personable and professional. It was supposed to be a small group but because of the time of year it turned out to be a private tour.

It was an enjoyable tour of Oranges's Roman ruins and one winery. I really would've liked more wine! The tour of the winery was interesting and the wine we tasted was lovely but we only sampled three wines. In California, most wineries give you at least six!

As our trip was on Tuesday, we visited one winery and Roman amphitheater in Orange. Visit to the winery was interesting and we got to learn some basic knowledge of wine from the owner himself. I wish we would be able to spend more time at the winery though we were already behind schedule as we were too excited during the wine tasting part. The guide is knowledgable and friendly. Thank you for such a great half day !

Tour of the winery was terrible. Both our guide and the person at the winery seemed bored and eager to end the tour quickly. The trip to Orange to see the Roman ruins was worthwhile. Our guide was terrible. She even refused to drop us off a few blocks from the center of town.

Our tour guide was very nice and I enjoyed the tour. She even spoke in French and English for us, so that we could practice our French. The wine tasting was interesting and fun and the Roman ampitheatre was very cool.

Would have liked to taste more wines. Usually the wine tastings we have been at before give you 6-8 samples. You don' t have to drink it all, but at least 2 whites, 2 rose's and 2 reds. We enjoyed the drive and our driver was very passionate and knowledgeable.

Great tour guide and great tour stops, but even though the title states wine-tasting day trip, the focus was not wineries or wine tasting. There was one stop out of about 4 tour stops that was at a winery.
