Barcelona Tapas and Wine Experience Small-Group Walking Tour

Fransico was a wonderful guide. As I write this review we are revisiting one of the bars he took us to. We were able to sample not only a variety of tapas but a number of Spanish alcoholic beverages that were new to us. Throw in a history lesson and you have a very worthwhile evening or as we say in the US: it was ‘the Cat’s ‘Meow’.

Alex was an amazing tour guide!! THE BEST! I would suggest everyone to book this tour when they visit Barcelona. You'll get to know more about history and FOOD! Best night ever! <3

The overall experience was good, our guide was Alex and was friendly and knowledgeable about the city and the food and wine. The food and wine were tasty and quite relevant to the tour and Spanish cuisine. However a couple of things prevented me giving them 5/5 1. The what's included part of the description says 4 restaurants, we did only 3. Now I do not know why, as no explanation was given. Or perhaps it was a Sunday after Christmas and not all restaurants were open. 2. The tour had a couple with 3 small kids. I do not have anything against kids, but for such a tour having kids created a bit of hassle, also the guide's attention was quite divided as she had to work 'separately' with them than all of us as a group.

Brilliant tour of Cat. Francesc was very knowledgeable and friendly, where we are and drank some fantastic tapas and wines, all whilst learning some history about the city that we would not have otherwise known! Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the less tourist side of Barcelona, with all the best places to go and some of the hidden gems in the city.

I did this tour as I was traveling solo and thought it was a great way to meet fellow travelers and sample the local cuisine. Pros: Tour guide was super nice and informative about local history. Offered restaurant and activity recommendations. Cons: 1)About 2/3 of this tour was various fish and seafood dishes. Guide asked at beginning if any allergens or foods you stay away from. I replied I don’t like fish or seafood, but willing to try everything. She said I’d be fine as there isn’t any “proper fish.” Lo and behold, the majority of the dishes were fish (see picture). Had I known, I would have dipped out and just found some better food. I wish they would have advertised how fish-heavy the food selection is. Beware if you don’t like fish/seafood like me. 2) Not a good quantity of food. You’d definitely be better off just going to 4 restaurants on your own and sampling various tapas. Prices are quite cheap at the restaurants here. 3) Two of the “restaurants” were tiny and it was impossible to have any sort of COVID precautions with fellow tourists and the guide. Pro tip: Flamenco show was fun and I’d recommend adding on or going on your own.

The tour was fabulous! Eli is enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. The tapas and wines we sampled were of high quality and plentiful.

We did this our first night in the city and it gave us great perspective of the city, its history, food and wine culture. The guide, Eli, was fantastic!! My husband and I very much enjoyed! Make sure you have cash handy for tipping the guide, there’s no way to use credit card

We enjoyed the walking, talking, history sightseeing as much as the tapas. Our guide, Francis, was the catalyst, to us, enjoying our new favourite food.

This tour was seriously the cat’s meow! Fransesc was an amazing guide who gave us the perfect amount of history and authentic information on the area, plus fun and laughter! Amazing price for what you get in terms of information, good and drinks and it really helped me to understand what to look for and where to eat for the rest of my stay. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone!

Francesc gave us an excellent tour with a mix of history and authentic tapas, in authentic establishments. Our tour group was fun, including the cat!
