Birmingham is known for its civil rights history, but matching landmarks to their significance can be difficult on a self-led tour. Travel between sites with ease via air-conditioned vehicle, and benefit from the small-group size for a more intimate experience.
  • Visit landmarks including Dynamite Hill and Bethel Baptist Church
  • Avoid hidden costs with all entrance fees included
  • Gain intimate insight into the battle for civil rights from your guide
  • Save time with included pickup and drop-off from central hotels

Mike was awesome and did an excellent job telling each story. This tour is one of the best tours we’ve taken because you can tell each part is carefully thought out. I would recommend this tour to anyone local or visiting Birmingham.

This is an excellent place to visit. So much detailed information--some good, some bad. But information we should be aware of and learn!

Absolutely amazing. Mike is an absolutely amazing, gifted and wonderful tour guide. He is engaging, shared so much history and leaders I never would have known about and he is incredibly “woke”. You will see parts that make you want to cry and parts that will make you appreciate what we have been able to accomplish and this is a must see. Mike is Clay’s father and absolutely blessed to have had him as a tour guide. I’ve never met his son but Mike is everything!!! Check out this tour. It’s well worth it and you will be glad you did. You may even decide there’s still work you can do to fight for justice and equality.

Mike was an outstanding tour guide and we appreciated his kindness and knowledge. We need to learn more about the civil rights struggle of the pass to understand the struggle today.

Excellent! Worth the Money!

Mike did an excellent tour and was very knowledgeable with the content. Red Clay also does other tours that we're very interested to try now. My one recommendation (and this is not the tour company's fault) but you should use the restroom before you go because there are no public restrooms at the park where the tour picks up and drops off. There is a museum there and they wouldn't let us use the bathroom unless we bought a $15 ticket. Mike was able to tell us the closest clean bathroom to drive to, but if you've got kids that need to go "now", just be aware there's no place to go at the tour site.

The knowledge of our tour guide. Excellent tour. Would recommend. It is a lot of walking tour. So be able to walk at least a 1.5.
