Overview

Treat your palate to a 5-hour wine and chocolate or cheese tour in the picturesque wine region of Etyek. Departing from Budapest, you’ll be driven to an artisanal workshop to sample rich regional wines and learn the process behind making cheese or chocolate. You’ll then travel to three additional wine cellars to learn how the wine is cultivated, pairing the last visit with a 2-course meal. To keep this experience as intimate as possible, groups are limited to 12 travellers.

This was one of the best Tours my husband and I have been on. From start to finish we enjoyed every moment. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, the chocolate tasting was delicious and fun, and the wine tasting and dinner were fantastic! I recommend taking the afternoon tour because there is more to see, according to our guide. What I liked about the tour was 1) it was a small van and not a big bus so it made for a more intimate experience -there were 7 of us; 2) the guide was extremely knowledgeable---the company only runs tours to Etyek so it's their speciality; 3) we visited local people--a homemaker who started her own chocolate business with some very creative and yummy treats; a wine maker who grows only enough wine for himself or to sell locally as a hobby now that he has retired; and a manager of a destination restaurant open only for special occasions and groups, so everything is homemade and his wine choices are carefully selected. Going outside the city was a treat to see how people live outside of Budapest and how much they enjoy their food and wine. This was one of the most satisfying tours I took during my month-long trip to Central European capitals.

This tour was awesome! Suzanna was a great guide. We went to a local home where we tasted SO much delicious chocolate. From there we went on to a local winery that was also run out of the family's personal home. This was such a cool experience because we got to talk to and meet a local's family and the winery is so small that only 760 bottles of some of the wine are made. It was a great tour and I highly recommend it!

My sister and I had such a fun time! The guide, Julia was amazing and so enthusiastic. The chocolate tasting, making and learning provided by Godo Viktoria, combined with the different wines were interesting and Yummy and has changed how I enjoy good chocolate. The vineyards and wine cellar we visited were really fun and beautiful. And, the celebratory dinner with the other guests, who were so enjoyable they made it worthwhile in themselves was delicious with excellent wines. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Hungary and I highly recommend this trip, the guide and this company very highly. I will book with Viator again on my next international trip. Thank you!

We really enjoyed this tour apart from the meal at the end. The guide was friendly and informative. The chocolate tasting was amazing where we paired up different types of chocolate with different wines. We even tried a little making some chocolate! The wine tasting was rustic and personal which we enjoy rather than a large soulless winery.The setting for the last stop, for more wine tasting and the meal was magical, set up under the trees. Unfortunately the meal was overcooked and not up to the standard of the rest of the tour. It didn't help that I don't eat meat and was served a frozen fish fillet cooked of course with not even a sauce to take the dryness away. However the guide is aware of this and will sort it for next time. A worthwhile experience.

Julianna was our tour guide and she was wonderful, very informative. We went with 5 other people to a Chocolate Tasting and two wine vineyards for tasting. At the last vineyard we had a traditional Hungarian dinner. The Chocolate Tasting with wine was amazing and fun. The wine tasting were great we sampled 4 wines at each vineyard and they were good. This is a must tour if you are visiting Budapest.

BEST TOUR WE HAVE EVER BOOKED THRU VIATOR. We did the chocolate and wine tasting - it was spectacular. Victoria our chocolatier was great - so informative. Her chocolate and wine pairings were out of the world. Our next stop at the local winery was great - and be sure to buy a bottle for the next stop - DINNER if you prefer red over white the winery owner was wonderful - and the place so cozy inside. The last stop dinner and it was delicious our host lives in a winery and we toured the wine cellar too. Our guide was excellent.

This tour was excellent, we were on a tour with an excellent group of people and our guide was amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour and do it again if I was ever back in the area. The wineries we visited were all great and the owners clearly had a passion for the industry and made us all feel at home. The last winery we visited treated us to a home cooked meal which was absolutely delusions. Definitely a 5 star experience.
