Expected more

After seeing 15 Cirque du Soleil shows, I was disappointed with this one, my second viewing of Joya. The show was re-worked after the pandemic, and there are many fewer than usual acrobats, and much more "clown" action. The grand finale, however, was great! The meal was well-presented and unusual. The desert presentation, in particular, was fun. The staff were all very helpful. I'll see future Cirque shows, but not this one again.

I didn’t understand the story line

I didn’t understand the story line. They didn’t speak enough English. They were in a library talking about a meteor. At one time I believe they were in the ocean. They tried to up sale more products. The acts were great but don’t know how they tied in w/ everything.

Have A Heart Viator/Tripadvisor!

I was ill the morning of the Cirque Show and it took a while for meds to help me feel better. As a result, we would have been an hour late to the event by the time we would have been ready to leave our hotel. Two hours in advance, I called the theater and they told me to call Viator since I made the reservations with them. I called and spoke to several people explaining, begging and pleading to change my reservation to the next show (mine was the early 6pm show) or switch it to the next day. I had flown to Mexico from the U.S. just to see this show. My pleas fell on unsympathetic, deaf ears. Mind you, I was not requesting a refund. I understand policy but, at least you can pretend to be understanding of my situation. Suffice to say, I did not see the show as I was not able to pay another (almost) $400 for two more tickets. I'm very disappointed and would give one star if I could.

A pleasant but underwhelming experience for the money.

The show was interesting and entertaining. However, I expected more arial performance. Those included were good. The aquatic portion of the show was well done. The visual and performances were very enjoyable. Seeing the musicians perform was a plus. The overall storyline was cute but felt more like entertainment for children.
