Overview

After pickup from a central meeting point in Cancun's hotel zone, travel to the tropical forest north of Playa del Carmen. Arrive at JOYÁ's custom-built theater, the first permanent Cirque du Soleil show outside of the United States.

As the show begins, immerse yourself in the adventures of a teenage girl and her alchemist grandfather. After finding a mysterious gem in the mangrove forest, the young girl must complete a series of challenges set out by her grandfather. After the show has concluded, enjoy transportation back to Cancun.

JOYÀ, the first Cirque du Soleil resident show in Mexico, combines culinary and performing arts in an intimate theater setting to engage the audience's five senses. Drawing on Mexico's history and heritage, JOYÀ tells the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter embarking on a quest to uncover the secrets of life. If you selected seating with dinner, please note the dinner starts an hour before the show Ticket Options: High Stool: A comfortable bar stool in the 2 last rows of the theater. Beverage and food are not included. Show Only: Seats are located off to the side of the stage. Beverages and food are not included. Champagne: Central premium seats, gourmet appetizers and a half-bottle of Mercier Champagne per person. Money well spent. The food is fabulous, the service is superb, and the COVID-19 precautions are outstanding. Everyone had masks on and practiced social distancing. The performers were phenomenal. I would definitely go experience it again and highly recommend that you experience it for yourself.

This was my second Cirq but my husbands first. The venue and presentation led us to expect great thing as it is beautiful and inviting. However, the story and acts did not make any sense! It was not a language issue as I thought they did a great job of going back and forth between English and Spanish. The story just didn’t work or make sense and the modern acts (like jump rope and trampoline with rock music) vs more ethereal or fantasy acts was very distracting. Overall I would give it a 4/10 compared to Kà which was a 9/10! I’m sad this was my husbands first experience as I may never get him to go back! 😞

A must do! I was very impressed with the food and the show. Everything was beautiful! A lot of attention to detail, like any Cirque show. I loved it! My boyfriend was super impressed and he is very pickey with food and shows. The food was exquisite. Please get the VIP package is sooo worthed! I would like to go back and bring some of my special friends to it.
