7:00 PM

Please arrive 30 minutes before your selected start time for pickup. Your operator can coordinate exact time and location.

We offer complimentary hotel pick-up & drop-off from anywhere within the Old City and the surrounding areas. There will be additional charges for any hotel pick-ups which are located away from Chiang Mai (~10-15km away).
Begin with pickup at your Chiang Mai accommodations, then meet a small group of fellow foodies—for a more personal experience, the group size is limited to eight people.

Follow a route that will take you to two evening markets, where you’ll try a wide variety of dishes, from kannom jin Chinese noodles to northern Thai specialties, coconut dumplings, stewed pork, and sweets. This is the perfect time to learn some basic phrases with help from a local, then practice ordering dishes in Thai. The tour includes a leaflet that explains the most popular street food dishes, so you can keep exploring Thai markets on your own.

With a small group and an experienced guide, you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions about unfamiliar foods, ingredients, and how to eat some of Thailand’s more exotic dishes. After you’ve tasted your way through both markets, you’ll hop a songthaew for the return trip to your accommodations, where this tour concludes.

A night of taste bud delight

My tour guide, Jay, picked me up right on schedule and we proceeded out to various food outlets to sample numerous northern Thai dishes. Jay is thorough and his explanations of the food groups and the ingredients that go into each sampling. He interacts with the cooks and encouraged me to take many pictures and videos of the creative cooking process. Jay is also very familiar with each of the cooks and it was fun to see them banter back-and-forth. You will be stuffed with delicious the most delicious Northern Thai food! I would highly recommend Jay and the street food tour and wouldn’t mind doing it again. Thank you Jay!

Great Introduction to Thai Food
Toya_T

I took this food tour the first night I arrived in Thailand. And although I was exhausted from traveling, I am happy this was my first introduction to Chiang Mai and Thai food and culture. The tour guide picked me up exactly at the time they told me. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the two street food markets we visited. He clearly explained the food and gave us all a handy printout with common thai food and thai phrases, including how to say thank you and how to order food in thai. Some people in my group got a chance to order our food in Thai. The food was absolutely delicious. We got a wide array of thai dishes, include soups, noodle dishes, and desserts. At the end, I was satisified and full. The next night I used I returned to one of the markets and ordered some of the food I had the night before on the street food tour. Highly recommend this tour.

Really good fun trip. Excellent way to experience good street food and Jay was a brilliant guide checking who wanted spicy and who didn’t. We finished the evening with very full tummies!!

Excellent way to sample lots of local dishes - not just samples but some dishes quite substantial. A full dinner spread over 15 courses.

Best guide/host in all of Chiang Mai!

Our guide, Boom, was amazing! He made the whole experience worth while. Would highly recommend anyone who takes this trip to try and get Boom as your guide. He clearly loves street food and has the perfect job to fit his love. He made extra effort to find other great options/modification for my wife who did not eat me, and it made the whole experience even better! It’s great because it’s small so you get to really know the guide and the other people on your tour. 100% recommend to anyone who has time in Chiang Mai!

Amazing Street Food Tour

We booked this for the first night in Chiang Mai, and it set the precedent for the rest of our stay there. We were shown around to a lot of great food stalls by an amazing tour guide. Also met some great people along the way! We would definately recommend this to anyone visiting Chiang Mai!

Great food, okay guide

Overall we were really glad we did this food tour. We went to two different markets and the food we sampled was utterly delicious and I don't know that I would have known to choose what he did. However, I would say our guide seemed a bit disinterested and disengaged from the whole thing and was just going through the motions to get it done. We still had a good time, but would have been nice to have more communication from our guide regarding the food and the marketplace.

Our guide was wonderful & took us to a hawker center, where we tried three different food entrees and three different kinds of dessert. By the end of the evening, we were all stuffed!

I make it a habit of going on a food tour in every country I go to. Morocco, India, China… This one was actually my least favorite. Only because they just take you to one market. You walk a total of maybe 50 feet. Whereas other tours I’ve been on in other cities will take you via tuk tuk to entirely different neighborhoods to try food at various places. The food was quite good, and the guide was good, but I wish he would’ve taken us to more than just one market to try a couple different vendors.

Dear Sir/Madam. Thank you for your feedback. Our tour always visit two markets. Could you please let me who was your tourguide. So we will discuss with our tourguide about this.

We were picked up on time, got copies of some Thai dishes and a small dicctionary with useful vocabulary for ordering food. We stopped at numerous street food stalls and were able to try all kinds of different dishes and Thai whiskey. It was no problem for our guide to provide me with vegetarian alternatives. He even thought of asking about fish sauce! we learned a lot and had great fun!
