Get picked up at your hotel in Dubrovnik and then hop inside the air-conditioned vehicle to make the drive south to Montenegro. Drink in the views of the Adriatic Sea and the Dubrovnik Riviera and learn about the history and culture of the area from your local guide.

After crossing the border to Montenegro, twist and turn with the road, going around the large Bay of Kotor, and passing through charming villages along the way. Then stop in Perast, a lovely town at the base of St Elijah Hill. Consider taking the optional boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks island to check out the baroque-era church (at own expense).

The next stop is Kotor, situated in a fjord and one of the most eye-pleasing Montenegrin towns. Once there, begin a walking tour that goes throughout the squares and narrow cobbled streets, taking you to historic churches such as the Cathedral of St Tryphon. Then take some free time to do some wandering—consider marching up the 1,350 steep steps to the San Giovanni Castle for an incredible view and photo opportunity—or sit down for a drink or a snack (at own expense).

After Kotor, head to Budva, a gorgeous walled city on the sea boasts attractive beaches and narrow cobbled streets. Take some free time to explore or sit down for a meal (at own expense).

Take a ferry ride across the Bay of Kotor and then enjoy a final scenic drive along the coastal roads of Montenegro to end your day. You are returned to your Dubrovnik hotel.

Such a beautiful country and the tour and tour guide were perfect. 3 different stops with 3 different purpose.

Heat made trip less enjoyable
Zoe_C
, Jul 2022
Just the right amount of time in each place, was a very hot day and the air con wasn’t cooler enough on the coach which made the experience a lot less enjoyable, I did ask twice for it to be turned up, long waits at border. No need to follow guide when you get off on stops just do your own thing, everything is relatively close and easy to find. If you bring swimwear go to the beach in Kotor and save the shopping and eating for last stop.

Hi Zoe, Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the destinations on the trip. Unfortunately, the police at the border require the bus to be turned off while waiting. This is the reason for the A/C not being on during the border wait only. Thank you for booking with us, SuperTours

Waaay too many pickup spots
Jennifer_V
, Jun 2022
We spent 70 minutes driving around to pick everyone up. Two spots were literally a four minute walk apart. Our tour guide was very nice and had a lot of interesting history to tell us. The first place we stopped, Perast was very nice. On the bus ride home, the music was way too loud to sleep which is what I wanted to do after walking around in 95 degree heat. At the end, we were put on vans bc the buses couldn’t enter the old town area. Fine, but why not let us know that beforehand when booking?
icon Response from Host , Jul 2022
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for your review. We have noted under additional information that the area around the Old Town is protected and may affect pick-ups. That is why we put in the effort to send out multiple vans, so that we may drop our guests off as close as possible to their pick-up locations after the tour. Otherwise, we would have to leave many of our guests far from their accommodation. That would be exhausting for many after a day of sightseeing. We do this free of charge for our guests even though we have to send out multiple drivers. Thank you for booking with us, SuperTours

Unfortunately not the best guide

Very organized trip from the company. Unfortunately our guide was not the best one and did not provided the context/information that we were waiting for. Wishing the company to better select the guides moving forward!

So superficial. No added...

So superficial. No added value to book this tour, better to rent a van/car and visit the country yourself.

Not doing that again

The trip itself was quite nice and a great experience. But the fact that some of the things you were going to see had been turned into a nightclub.., for example the old armory in kotor, that is now a nightclub.. And also I find it quite annoying / pyramid scheme like that you are informed prior to the trip that you have to pay 10 EUR for boat to lady of the rocks, then when you arrive there you have to pay another 2 EUR to actually come in and see the place.., (cash cow to rob tourists) Things to consider before booking this (that you are not informed about) - Bus with useless air condition, bus driver parks bus without A/C on so when you need to get back on the bus it is hotter inside than outside, driver doesn’t care since his own A/C is on max, just the guests that are frying. - Outdated map for Kotor, some of the things doesn’t exist - Hidden extra fee for Lady of the rocks after paying 10 EUR to take the 2 minute boat out there, 2 EUR more to just peek inside a 20 m2 church. - Felt like Bus driver and guide was arguing more than Bering a team
icon Response from Host , Jun 2022
Hi Stephan, Thank you for your review. The boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks is optional and the cost is stated under exclusions. Those who do not wish to take the boat ride may choose to spend their time in Perast instead. We are looking into the A/C issues with the bus. Thank you for booking with us, SuperTours

Tour guide did a great job explaining history and organizing. Problem was no air conditioning on the bus. Feel we should have been given at least partial refund.

While the entire trip to Montenegro was fun our guide was not. She kept stating how difficult it was to keep up with such a large group and how stressed she was. While I feel for her, why have such a large group if it is unreasonable to guide them adequately? My fellow travelers that I met in the bus, and I also felt very bossed around. She kept yelling at everyone to be quiet, keep within 5 meters of her and so on. I did not appreciate this! Lastly, all of my other tours have included an English speaking guide who is very easily understood. I support anyone who attempts to learn English, it is hard!! However, to be a guide more confident and clear English is needed! I was really disappointed overall.
icon Response from Host , Jun 2022
Hi Hannah, Thank you for your review. We have had issues with travelers getting lost and returning to the bus late recently. This would hold up the entire group and cause the tour to last longer than necessary, which is inconvenient for most of our travelers. However, we will not be employing the same guide for this tour anymore. Our usual guide was not available on the given day. Thank you for booking with us, SuperTours

Picked up by coach on time. Tour guide was difficult to understand. Travel to Montenegro was comfortable with adequate stops, no toilet on board, which was not good for a 3 hour coach trip! Had to pay a tourist tax when we arrived, I questioned this, as I had read that a tax was only payable if you were staying overnight? Tour guide was quiet rude when she answered. When we arrived she said we could travel by boat to "the lady of the rocks" island. We paid 20 euros for a 5 min trip to a tiny island with nothing on it! Total waste of money, some tourists paid 5 euros to get there who were not on a tour! Montenegro itself was lovely so would still recommend a day trip there, just perhaps not with this tour company!
icon Response from Host , Jun 2022
Hi Tracey, Thank you for your review. The tax applies to all travelers entering the Old Town of Kotor. The boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks is optional, but many choose to do it to visit the small church on the island. Those who would prefer to spend time in Perast instead of taking the boat ride are welcome to do so.

Day Trip Fun!
Terese_S

Amazing day trip from Dubrovnik. Start early, we had no problems crossing the border, but a small group tour was worth it as we saw big busses during. Bring snacks! Persast was super cute. We did go to Our Lady of the Rocks, very majestic views. I would have liked more time there to sit on the water for coffee. Then Kotor was next, again breathtaking views of the mountains and walled city. We elected to eat her because it was already 1pm - great cafes and scenery. Next was Budva, a Russian Resort beach town, we thought it could have been skipped, but sat in the beach and enjoyed some cocktails - pack a suit/towel. Our guide was very knowledgeable and courteous.

Hidden extra fraudulent charges, but ok as booking if you consider this as a taxi service, as it has good stops.

Please note you CANNOT visit Kotor Old Town without handing over cash to the tour guide behind a hut next to the entrance of the walls - there is no barrier or gate or staff at all, but you are ushered to the side with the group for this 'transaction'. You are told this is a 'tourist tax', but tourist tax DOES NOT APPLY to non-overnight visitors, and in any case should be included either way. If there is any doubt of the legitimacy - take note that NO receipt is offered. All other foot traffic walks straight in. We now know that other tour guides, and even locals, said this is a scam, so just be aware before you book, and I would urge you to question this so Viator can display the actual charge of this tour if the provider insists to continue this absurd façade. The tour itself was decent. We were lucky on the border crossings both ways and faced no queues, and the stops visited were brilliant with enough time to explore. Good commentary on the way. However the tour guide is misinformed about some things - for instance, we were told the Cat Museum in Kotor has been closed for refurbishment, but this was not the case, and the owner of the museum seemed confused as to why this was told to us. So maybe do your own research beforehand to avoid unnecessarily missing out on what you really want to do!
icon Response from Host , Jun 2022
Hi Irenenicolaou, Kotor has always had a 1€ per person tourist tax, regardless if the visitor is staying overnight or visiting on a day trip. The cat museum was closed until recently though. We are glad you enjoyed most of the tour and destinations. Thank you for booking with us.

Beautiful country tour meh

It was okay. We loved what we saw but basically it is a drive you to the cities then you are on your own. The guide gave us commentary in the van but not always easy to hear. I guess I expected more such as accompanying us and giving information on the sites. To ne it’s just like a taxi taking you to a destination with a short explanation of where you are. The value for the money was not there.
icon Response from Host , Jun 2022
Hi Srear, Most of the time we send out a bus equipped with a microphone for the tour escort. We will look into possibly providing a similar system for when there is a lower number of participants on a van/minibus tour. We appreciate the feedback. Thank you for booking with us.
