Barbara was a great guide. Loved the explanations of our "wine educator" during the second tasting and visiting Castellina in Chianti at dusk.

Good trip and beautiful place

We booked this tour last minute in Sep 2020 as a lot of the other tours were booked up. However, we were very pleased with the experience and thought it was good value for money. In the experience you get 2 wine tastings at vineyards (lovely scenery) and 2 visits to local towns where you can buy gelato, do shopping etc. The only thing I would change is the last visit - it seemed unnecessary as there wasn't a lot to do and by this point I think everyone was ready to head back to Florence. But otherwise it was a good trip and everyone was very good at wearing their masks etc

Great wine tour ... But coughing driver 😷
Megan_M
, Sep 2020
The locations for wines tasting, scenery and towns were incredible. Only downside our tour driver literally was coughing the entire trip half wearing a mask. I watched him cough without his mask on into his hand and touch everything around him. Made us uneasy the entire time. Wish you would have picked someone who wasn't sick during a pandemic.

Amazing tour, great Guide Barbara, lovely vineyards! Definitely worth any money! Big bus (so perfect for social distancing), I didn’t feel rushed at any point of the trip. For sure it’s one of the best one day tours I have ever taken!

A relaxing wine tour

This wine tour was a great time and the tour guide was very informative. We toured two vineyards, tasted several wines and sampled bread, cheese and meats. We also had an in between stop in the local village where we were able to shop around and grab some lunch (lunch not included, only samples and tastes). Poggio Amorelli was our favorite vineyard, the wine pours were generous, food was tasty and the host was a character. IG @lovelyjeanettey

Lovely wine tour

I booked this tour because my mom wanted to see the Tuscan countryside and we got so much more! This was an amazing way to spend an afternoon. We went to two wineries and learned all about what makes Chianti - Chianti. Learned about Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil. Most importantly drank some of the most delicious wine and made some new friends!

Wonderful relaxing afternoon

My daughter and I had so much fun on this tour. We loved our guide, Elena, and her quirky sense of humor. She explained all about Chianti country and the different kinds of wines, and even pointed out the interesting sights during our bus ride. Both vineyards we visited were very scenic and the presenters informative. We sampled 3 or 4 wines as well as olive oil at each. The samples were small but reasonable, so you shouldn't get drunk off them. Our only real criticism was that the meat and cheese snacks provided were too sparse for our large group. Luckily, we ordered the medium meat and cheese platter from the butcher shop in Greve, which turned out to be one of our most memorable meals in Italy. Both vineyards rely on direct purchases and will ship to your home. The first was very reasonably priced, the second offered more premium priced products. All of them were very good in our opinion. If your plan is to get drunk, you probably either want one of the more expensive wine tours, or supplement your intake in Greve. If you're looking for a fabulous afternoon of wine tasting, scenery, and fun, I highly recommend this tour.
