Start the day with skip-the-line access to the Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo’s 'David.' Nothing prepares you for the scale of this sculptural masterpiece. Your guide helps you appreciate the artistry from every angle, including the techniques Michelangelo used to make marble look smooth as butter.

The highlight of the city walking tour is the Florence Cathedral, whose incredible red dome is the city’s crown jewel. The dome was not without challenges for architect Filippo Brunelleschi, as your guide explains while you view the masterpiece from outside. Entrance to the Duomo is always free, so you can come back at any time to explore the cathedral in more depth, equipped with an abundance of knowledge shared by your expert, local guide.

Your tour continues through the historic center of Florence, taking in the Piazza Signoria, where 'David' once stood.

Skip the line once more at the Uffizi Gallery. Our coordinator will hand you the ticket to enter this immense gallery where you will visit at your own pace, wasting no time in showcasing works by Da Vinci, Botticelli, and Titian. Don’t forget to rub the nose of 'Il Porcellino,' Pietro Tacca’s Baroque bronze boar sculpture, to bring the rest of your vacation good luck.

Whether you’re only in Florence for a day or settling in for a longer stay, this is the perfect introduction to a city where beauty awaits around every corner.

Make sure you read the everything and understand what you’re getting before you book. It’s a walking tour (which was good) with skip the line tickets to the Accademia, then a three hour break before you can get your tickets to Uffizi, neither of which are guided.

Good but not great

Our guide was great and we enjoyed his commentary on the area and the republic and takeover by the Medici Family. Was surprised that it didn’t include a tour of either museum.

Great guide, poor information from Viator

Melania was a great guide, used her iPad with pix integrated for the tour, and had a good pace. The downside: Viator didn’t explain the structure & times needed for the tour… we had to bail on a later ticket purchase. Also, the lack of a guide in the Uffizi was disappointing, especially since we saw other guides inside… as if Viator was too cheap to hire a 2nd guide since we had a larger group. More information given the $ spent feels overdue. Not sure I would trust Viator again.

Excellent introduction to Florence

The tour was not what I expected but better. Although it was advertised as the Uffizi and Academie, it began with a walking tour of the city. It was very informative and I really enjoyed our tour guide. She was knowledgeable and fun.

Angelo our tour guide was excellent. He turned the history into a walking story for us as we learned about Florence. Highly recommend.

Oversold tour/ 5+ hours, not 2.5 as stated

I usually avoid writing bad reviews, but hope this helps others. 2 issues: tour oversold and tour length is not as advertised. First of all, the tour was oversold. We, as well, as several others, did not get any headphones. At first, we were told to call customer service, and leave. Then, after our tour guide, called them again (per request of angry customers), they allowed us to tag along. Walking the busy streets of Florence with no headphone, means you really couldn't hear anything. The only saving grace was our tour guide, Claudia, who was very nice (she is the only reason, I did not give it one star). The little bits that I heard were presented in a very interesting manner. I wish I could hear her more. She tried to stop frequently, but it was so noisy, that despite that, you could not hear much. Since there were many of us without headphones, we tried to alternate coming close enough, and yet being Covid- compliant at the same time. At the end, we just stood and laughed at how pathetic this experience was. 2) The second issue is that this tour is 5+ hours, not 2.5. After our painful walking tour, we finally arrived to Academia, and then were told that we had 3 hours until the second museum (Uffizi). That was not how it was specified on Viator. We asked to have the tickets (that are included in the price of the tour), but the tour guide was not allowed to give them to us. Since we had another activity scheduled in 3 hours, we had to skip the Uffizi. Overall, this is the first tour so poorly organized that I had booked through Viator. I hope it remains a singular experience. We are in the process of requesting a refund for the tour. Hope it helps.

Excellent start to a disappointing end

Daniela was an excellent guide highly recommend her I don’t know if I missed it in the things provided but didn’t realize I would have to wait 3 hours for the second part of tour which amounted to tickets for an unguided tour for the Uffizi. Why couldn’t they be given at the end of first part

Matt was very good!

Matthew (Matt). Was very knowledgable and helpful. We were disappointed with the cancelation of the 2nd tour (Uffizi) and he explained why (museum ticket system over-booking), but with the email advanced notice the day before we were able to book another fun excursion.

So so

Tour guide was knowledgeable for walking tour but we did wait in line for the gallery and it was not a guided tour as we expected. We understood covid restrictions prevented but we should have been provided with headsets to guide us thru since you could not provide what you offered. That or a reduced price.

Take this Tour - you must!

An outstanding tour and the only one you should consider. Knowledgeable, patient, interested, kind and complete. A great personal tour. Smart to go early, smart to book a private tour with a guide that is so informed. Answered questions, engaged adults and kids and teens. Everyone completely enjoyed it.
