Wine Tour in July 2021
, Jul 2021
We booked a wine tour in July 2021 and had an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Emma was incredible, friendly and very knowledgeable. We tested several wines and received explanations from a sommelier. I highly recommend the tour!
Funny wine testing

The guide tour was very nice and polite. She knew a lot about the history of Florence and was ready to share with us a lot of intresting information. The wine tasting was very nice, we didn’t have a looot of time to enjoy the different wines but was still worth it. I suggest this tour to all the young people like me to enjoy some good wine and have a first glance at how a wine tasting is made.
Really fun day

Really fun trip and really good value. You get copious amounts of wine and great snacks. Some wine tours can be a bit stuffy but this was lots of fun and you learnt too. Really well structured day with the right of time at places
Millennial Wine Tour

I am so happy that we opted to do the Millennial wine tour over others. It was really great to be in small groups of people close in age to my partner and I (ages 30 + 34). We tasted amazing wine, had a panoramic drive through the Tuscan country side and explored the medieval village. It was a prefect day!
Wonderful experience!

Tour guides were so great and everything was organized perfectly so that the 2 winery experiences were very unique. San Gimignano was such a great place to explore and finish the day.
Would definitely recommend!

We had such a wonderful time on this tour - it was only a small group so felt very personal and not too touristy. The guides were amazing and knew so much amazing information about the local area. We got to taste many wines at 2 wineries and then tour a small town in Tuscany (with the world’s best gelato). I would recommend this tour to any of my family and friends and wish it could have gone for longer!

My Husband and i joined the tour. There were some other couple on the tour as well, but it certainly seemed the the majority was 20 somethings. It's the perfect tour for a couple of friends. The wineries we went to were great, and so were the hosts at them. The only thing i wish i knew before hand was that the last town were were visiting would require a bit of a hike, it was a cool city but it would have been nice to know before hand.

We took a tour targeted toward our age group (30) and I thought that was great because we met several people and enjoyed our time. This is a far more affordable tour than so many others available in this region. We visited 2 wineries and I enjoyed some of the wine at the first place but it felt way too much like a sales pitch. The wine at the 2nd place was absolutely nothing to write home about but the views were beautiful. If Tuscany is so world-renowned for its wine, I wonder why I was so unimpressed with the tastings on this tour.

My husband and I booked this tour, it was wonderful. A comfortable coach ride to Tuscany which we then toured 2 wineries for tastings along with olive oil tastings. Tenuta Winery was amazing, we sampled 7 different wines, Rose, Their house white wine and Chianti Classico along with extra virgin olive oil and olive oil with truffle. We then visited the village of San Gimignano. A must if viditing Florence or Pisa.

Pros: 1. The wine we got to sample was good 2. Tour guide was fun and energetic 3. Getting to experience San Gimignano wasn’t fun and provided a feel of what a medieval village is like 4. The tour was mostly millennials so it was easy to talk and connect with other couples during the tour 5. The winery guides at both locations were fun and provided a good experience. First stop was funny and put on a good show and the second location went into details about how their wine is processed. Cons: 1. Supposed to meet at 9:40 and leave at 10 am sharp. We left the waiting station at 10:15 and had another 5-10 minute walk to the bus. So started off 30 minutes behind schedule 2. I could be wrong, but thought the tour was limited to around 20-25 people. Our group easily had more than 50 which was far too large and I think was the ultimate reason why this tour was average. 3. Thought we’d get to sample more wine on the tour than we did since it was mentioned several times we’d get drunk and drink a lot of wines. We got to sample 7 glasses of wine between the 2 wineries. We did get to sample some olive and truffle oils at the first winery which were really good but thought we’d get more wine out of this for $80/person. All in all, it was a mixed trip. My wife and I aren’t really into group tours but saw how many good reviews this got and thought it’d be fun. While we did enjoy the wines, oils, and San Gimingnano, I wouldn’t do this trip again unless the group air was at least cut in half.

Dea Leah, We appreciate your objective feedback for the Tuscany wine tour and that you overall enjoyed the experience and the guide, we are also sorry that you had some disappointments. Let me go through your points in order to make everything clear. 1. The meeting time for the tour is at 9:40am to allow our team to check everyone in in order to depart at 10 a.m . From the main square to the bus pick up point is only a short 5 minutes walk distance as in Florence tourist buses are not allowed in the center. While we aim to depart always on time, we remember that exceptional day very well as we are waiting for some clients coming from Rome only for the tour and their train was late. They called us asking to wait for them and since the delay was out of their control we decided to wait few extra minutes, certain that this would not affected the tour. I am sure you would have appreciated the same treatment if you were in their place as we know how unpleasant it is to miss a tour. However the 15 minutes delay did not effect your experience as everything has been delivered per itinerary. 2. The Tuscany wine tour is a bus tour and it accomodates up to 50 people, depending on the season the number can vary from 20 in low season up to 60 in high season. I'm not sure where did you get the impression that the tour was run with 20- 25 people, as even in the reviews it's mentioned that it's in a big bus. We also have other types of wine tours run by minivan with 8 or max 16 people like the Tuscany Experience, The small group half day tour, Siena, Cortona & montepulciano and more... If you had contacted us, we would have advised the tours with the smaller groups like one of these ones. 3. We are glad that you have enjoyed the wine, but regarding the number of glasses, you will see that most wineries for a tasting offers more or less the same number of wine glasses(or even less), from 7-8 different types of wine, that is what it says on our tour description, after all it is wine tasting. We don't promote the tour as a way of getting drunk, but we do acknowledge that the quantity given is very generous and it happened that young people get drunk. Finally, we are sorry that you had higher expectations, but in our defense, everything was written in the tour description, and  we always make sure that our clients don't get less than what is written clearly in the tour description. Since your experience was overall positive, I kindly invite you to consider our company for the other tours offered in Tuscany or in other italian destinations and contact us to suggest the ones that suit you the most. Kind regards, Italy on a budget team
