8:00 AM
This activity will end right where it started.
Board your coach in Florence, and travel into the hills of Tuscany where the city of Siena awaits. Opt to take a guided tour of the city with a visit to Siena Cathedral to admire its renowned Gothic architecture. Or, make the most of some free time to set your own pace, and perhaps enjoy a coffee in the sun alongside the locals.

From Siena, return to the Tuscan countryside to explore the Chianti wine region. Stretch your legs with a stroll through a vineyard, olive grove and wine cellar, and refuel with a Tuscan winery lunch. As you sit surrounded by the grape vines, meet other visitors to the area and indulge in local treats such as cold cuts of meat, salad, pasta and fresh bread. Even better, a wine tasting takes place at the same time (not included in the tour option without lunch, guests will instead spend more time in San Gimignano)'

After lunch, journey onward to San Gimignano with its medieval towers, cobbled streets and squares. Explore the town’s historic center, cool down with a refreshing gelato and wander amid the 14 towers as you learn about their history.

Travel from San Gimignano to Pisa: your final stop of the day. Follow your guide to Cathedral Square to discover Pisa Duomo, Pisa Baptistry, the monumental cemetery (aka Camposanto) and, of course, the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Return to Florence in the early evening, and finish your Tuscany tour with a drop-off at the start point.

Such a great trip to experience some of the best gems of Tuscany in one day if you are short on time. Transportation was great and Sara was amazing! Would definitely recommend

Our guide Sara (no H) was wonderful! So nice and knowledgable about the area since she is a native. She was funny and full of information. She made sure we were all having a good time. It is a long day, but so worth it for the views and being able to see so much if you are not staying many days in Florence. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Best of Tuscany is totally worth it!

We did the Best of Tuscany full-day tour. It is a great experience for travelers visiting Italy for the 1st time. We got to see so much in one day. Our bus driver, Riccardo, our tour guide, Alex, and our local guide Annalisa, were exceptional. They provided great explanations and background information about each place we visited. There was just enough free time to appreciate each location. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Fattoria Poggio Alloro where we sampled 4 different wines, and enjoyed a lovely meal. The ingredients they use come from their farm. We would definitely book future excursions operated by Walkabout Tours in Florence.

Fantastic day exploring the towns of Tuscany

Fantastic tour - this was the highlight of our Italy trip! Our guide Angela brought a lot of energy and fun, and the organization was great. Spent about 1.5 hours in each town. Felt like enough time to walk around and hit the highlights without being too rushed. Highlights for us were the Duomo in Siena (absolutely stunning interior), walking around San Gimingnano, and the view from the tower of Pisa. For food, Pizzeria Ivano in Siena was great for grab and go - highly recommend because you start early and the lunch is around 2pm. Dondoli in San Gimignano was the best gelato we’ve every had. Bus rides were 1-2 hours each - pack a book, some shows, or a podcast but its pretty relaxed and the views are great. Highly recommend the tour and thank you again to our guide!

A Once in a Lifetime Experience!

This tour (organized by Walkabout tours) was very well organized and allowed the perfect balance of free time and guided tours in the three towns. Our tour guide (Sara) was extremely engaging and funny along with our driver Emiliano who maneuvered us along even the narrowest roads. The lunch at the farm was totally worth it and had amazing views. This tour is perfect for a taste of Tuscany and is one of the best we’ve done on our trip. Don’t hesitate to book!

A Perfect Blend of Sights and Exploring
Henrietta_V
, Jul 2022
Our day trip to Tuscany was a perfect blend of sightseeing and tourism! We learned interesting facts about the attractions we saw, and we were given time to explore on our own! Things were not rushed and I felt like I was soaking in the ambiance of Siena, Pisa, & San Gimignano. I enjoyed walking down the cobblestones of San Gimignano. I felt that some roads reminded me of scenes from Harry Potter. The world famous gelato is a must try. Even though the line was long, it was pretty fast. Sara was a knowledgeable and fun tour guide. Emiliano was a smooth driver. I even got my nap in between the journey!

This was such a fantastic tour and so worth the money. Our guide was Sara and our driver was Emiliano and they were both just fantastic! The tour is definitely all day with a lot of walking but plenty of rest and amazing sights to see. The food was delicious and having a guide who was not only a Florence native but also has a masters in Art History was amazing! Highly recommend!

First off, kudos to our tour guide Angela! She was friendly, knowledgeable, energetic and really wanted to make us happy. Well done! We knew it would be a fully packed day going into it, and it was. Be prepared for a fair amount of walking. The medieval settings were incredible and the Tuscan scenery is stunning. The organic farm lunch and wine tasting was absolutely delicious. The bus driver Emiliano was skilled and provided a very comfortable ride. This was a highlight of our week in Italy! Thank you. We highly recommend this tour.

Driver slow down!
Aimee_B
, Jun 2022
Bus driver needs to slow down! We ended our day with a car accident after 10 hours of reckless/careless/agreesive driving. This is my 5th trip to Italy so I am familiar with driving and this was not normal. The accident scared all the children and people left crying. Our tour guide was not a friendly person and didn’t provide much more than very basic information. She seem to not care for her job and was very occupied with taking our attendance.

Best tour and experience!

The tour group and guide (Manolo) was amazing and the day was never boring, never on bus too long and truly efficient, value was top notch. All towns were amazing and we were able to get a good taste at each one, including San Gimignano where we had a wine tasting lunch. This was our first of two on our trip. This one was amazing. Food was good, they explained different types of wines and we already had 5 wine glasses at our place setting, including a tiny one for dessert wine. We tried a white and two or three reds. They were all really good. The nice thing is they left the bottles on the table so we could have as much as we wanted and also we could compare on our own the different ones. This was not the same for the other winery where we got one ounce pours one at a time and they took bottle away right away. I cannot say enough good about this whole tour. Total price was $245 for two people and it was well worth it and then some. It was appx 11 hours? Long and it was exciting all the time and seeing three towns plus vineyard tour and lunch (at Fattoria Poggio Alloro winery) was amazing. Some people on the tour did not opt in for the vineyard lunch and tour at time of purchase and the tour guide still offered anyway en route to vineyard citing it is 30 euro pp. I thought that was a great deal, the other winery who gave much less, was 40 euro pp. I would do this tour again.

Chris and Nando were fantastic. Chris spoke perfect English and was very accommodating to our group. He was very knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. Nando got us there safely… thank goodness he drove not us. Beautiful views and we got to see the small towns we would not have known about. Definitely recommend!

This was one of the best tours I’ve been on. We were lucky enough to be in Sienna when they were setting up for the horse race, but the absolute highlight was the lunch at the winery. What an amazing experience I will never forget!the guide Alex was amazing - so knowledgeable and helpful making sure we were okay. I would do this tour all over again.

Olivia our tour guide was amazing! Kind, patient, and answered all of our questions. The driver Gaspar drove the bus with ease and I felt safe (and I HATE busses). I didn’t get motion sickness like I usually do. The tours were scenic and enjoyable. Bring good sneakers. Lots of uneven floors to walk on. Bring euros COINS and 50 cent COINS for bathroom stops. Lots of nice things to buy in Sienna and I got a few great deals on purses. Highly recommend this trip though I was very tired by the end at 7:30pm it was worth it!
