Gerard, our guide was phenomenal; engaging , enthusiastic and very helpful! We were the only ones there so it turned out to be a private tour!

Joining this tour was a right choice. My friends and I really enjoyed all the places we visited. The tour guide who accompanied us, his name is Gerald if I’m not mistaken, was also very kind, giving various explanations well. Thank you

Interesting spots, boring driver

Our tour operator did not share any information all throughout!
He was quite irritated with us being 15 minutes late at our last stop in Richmond as we apparently took a long time to have our lunch.
Response from Host , Jan 2021
Xaini, we are deeply disappointed with this uncharacteristically poor rating. Your group of young men booked on a 5 1/2 hour tour and it became apparent to your driver that you were intent on extending the tour by returning to the bus late at every stop. Your driver messaged you when you had not appeared at the bus for the last stop 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time (not 15 minutes). After you finished your wine and spirit tasting and returned to the bus, your tour arrived back in Hobart over an hour beyond the scheduled time. We usually receive excellent feedback for Barry, who has years of experience sharing his local knowledge with guests and we are confident that his response in this instance was reasonable.

Loved lookout at Mount Wellington. Richmond was a beautiful little town, would have loved to spend another hour there. Wildlife sanctuary was wonderful and very informative.

Excellent tour. The panoramic views from Mt Wellington were amazing, not to be missed when visiting Hobart. Bonorong Wildlife Park was great, very well maintained and our guide around the park was both interesting and informative. Richmond is a very pretty little town, with beautiful old, well maintained buildings, and interesting shops to browse through.
David, our tour guide, was very informative and patient, didn't rush us at all. He was a really nice chap, and even did a little detour on the way back, to show us another (unscheduled) lovely viewing spot.

Well worth doing, though would have loved a longer stop at each site.
Did manage to go back to Richmond the following day!
Response from Host , Feb 2020
Normally we do allow more time at each stop. However, as these customers were the only ones doing the small group tour, they were combined with the Cruise Ship passengers, doing the same itinerary, who also would have had more time, but their ship departed very early at 3:00 pm, in order to clear pending bad weather. It was scheduled to depart at 6:00 pm.

3 places in one day

Not in small group, actually was a big coach of 50 ppl... yet this day out does not need to be done in small group. 3 places where you are drop' off and where you spent free time on your own as you want. Our driver-guide had full interestings things to share too. Good quality/price journey. A bit more time in Richmond would be good (you have to choose between time for lunch or walking/visit, cant do both)

The Shore Excursion for Cruise Ship passengers is not advertised as a small group tour. This customer, being from a hotel, could not book on the Shore Excursion and could only book on the small group version of this tour. She was the only one doing the small group tour, which has the same itnierary. As we cannot do a tour for one person, she was asked if she would like to go on the bigger bus which was about to leave, and there was room for her, or wait until we had sold seats on a smaller bus. She accepted this proposal and appears to have enjoyed her day out. This is the only time that someone booked on the small group version of this tour has been asked to join the bigger group.
An hour in Richmond is regarded as enough by most tourists. We do advise that there is not enough time for a sit down meal. If food is a priority, then it is up to the customer to decide which they want to do. If one grabs a snack from the bakery, there is time enough to explore Richmond, as it is not very big.

Book if you just need a driver

This is not a guided tour. This is someone driving you to 3 locations. The vehicle isn't great to ride in, and at times the quality of driving was to be feared. The "guide" never really talked or explained anything.
Also, don't waste time by going to Richmond. There's nothing there and just this bridge. The Sanctuary was okay but you only got an hour or so there, so it's not worth the expense on this tour. As for Mt. Wellington, well we only spent 15 minutes there. Do another tour with another company.
Response from Host , Dec 2019
This customer started off on the wrong foot. Despite being sent a message that the driver would pick her up at her hotel, she chose to walk to the location stipulated in the tour description, for customers residing out of town. After fifteen minutes searching for her, we eventually found her at the wrong location. She did get the message as she responded to other matters on the same message. She never asked one question all day, nor responded to any of the narration.
She spent most of the day engrossed in her mobile phone.
We usually spend at least 30 minutes at the summit of Mt. Wellington, unless all passengers have returned to the vehicle prior to this time, because it was too cold or too windy for them.
We spend at least 75 minutes at Bonorong, which is enough time to partake in the 45 minute guided tour, plus 30 minutes to feed kangaroos. It is only a 5 hour tour after all.
Some people rave about Richmond. Some even remark that they needed more time there. We cannot please everybody, but we do please most, as can be gleaned from out other reviews.
