We booked a private Dhow cruise through Viator requesting confirmation as to the pick-up arrangements for the tour. The night before the tour we had still not received any information. This prompted us to reach out to the local company.Upon reaching out to the local company directly, they informed us there was no tour booked and that it was a problem with Viator in booking the tour. After a significant amount of pushing, a 'tour' appeared whereupon our 'private tour' constituted a tour with 14 other people. The 'private tour' was also meant to include door to door transportation but instead we were required to drive ourselves to and from the port. (We were only notified this about 15 minutes before we were scheduled to be picked up - thankfully we had a car).This was incredibly frustrating as we paid a premium for a 'private tour' rather than a group tour and did not receive what we paid for. The tour also only lasted for around 5 hours (once we had waited on the boat for the other groups to arrive before starting the cruise) rather than the advertised full day tour.We would suggest any future customers do not book this or a similar tour through Viator and instead reach out to one of the local tour agencies directly.
