The Benagil caves are not to be missed when visiting the Algarve. This unique seaside cave is a popular spot for photos because of the hole in its roof as well as its expansiveness. Depart Lagos on a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) and sail past Alvor, Portimao, and Carvoeiro on your way to the caves, while you admire the Portuguese coastline.

Blasting out over the waves on the Rigid inflatable boat was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Huge smiles on our faces. The caves were great too.

Unfortunately the water was quite rough and we were absolutely soaked. Thankfully I had a waterproof jacket that I was able to wrap around my camera and phone and that helped reduce the damage. I felt that the captain were in a rush to get us back, the speed that we were going was exhilarating, however it also caused major discomfort due to how hard the boat hit the water (I felt my spine click). There was hardly any explanation at the sites. I understand the weather is unpredictable but I felt the captain didn’t give much thought to the comfort and safety of the passengers.

The boat was 15 mins late to depart bcuz of waiting 2 ppl, and the captain asked a pair of friend to give away their seats rudely—-because he wants to arrange the good seats for the ppl who will coming in 15 mins.
The funniest part is finally he found out there’s no more ppl coming. So everyone wasted 15 mins on the boats for nothing! And the captain only being nice when he asked for tips at the end.

This excursion exceeded my expectations. It was two hours long and it was the perfect amount of time. We rode along the coastline to the far end and worked our way back to the most beautiful caves. We went inside approximately six or seven and visited several beaches. Spectacular views and the caves were breathtaking.
In this tour and most tours, you don’t get off at the caves, for that you would have to go on a kayak tour. Antonio and his Co-captain, and I were very very nice and informative. I went with my entire family including my parents which are in their 80s and they actually were willing to drive the boat a little slower and I freaked my mother out. We really enjoyed this excursion. I suggest you take sunscreen, (which we didn’t ) and take water (which we did ) and takeoff your hats! So it doesn’t blow away (just sayin)Thank you Antonio and co-captain for a very nice experience.
