Really enjoyed this excursion! Watching the sunrise was awesome. Eddy who was our tour guide did a great job of educating our group on the importance of safe bike operation as well as provided great comedy relief as we climbed upwards to nearly 10,000 ft.. The ride down the mountain was exhilarating and fun! This is a must do trip while visiting Maui! Will do this again!

Beautiful, exhilarating, cold

Had Corey as our guide during our ride up to the peak. Even at 3:30am he was bright eyed bushy tail and was great. Made some jokes, gave informative information and overall was just great. It is definitely chilly at the top. Make sure you layer up! 30 degrees easily with a chilly wind. Sunrise was beautiful worth the getting you early for. Bike ride down was fun and slightly terrifying because it's much steeper at the top. Definitely recommend

The whole trip was extremely organized! From getting the equipment, to riding the bus to getting all of the instructions. Our tour guide was humorous and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service and you could tell the staff loved their jobs. The sunrise was incredible and the tide down the hill breathtaking. I’d do it again!

Weird, but worth it.

The road to hana is an incredible experience I'm glad I chose not to pass up in Maui. The views were beautiful and the waterfalls were amazing. I didn't love how since we only had 4 people in our party with a maximum of 6 per tour, we had an additional couple of strangers join our tour. This would have been fine if we had a shuttle bus, but instead we were crammed in a toyota minivan. Luckily, we were all vaccinated, including the driver. I still just felt it was weird to jam this many people in a van, especially when 3 of us in the back had very limited view given the tiny backseat windows. The driver was great. He was kind and extremely attentive. 2 people in our party opted to drive themselves and follow behind, and the driver did everything he could to include them and make their trip memorable. I'm the kind of person that can make even myself sick by driving. I took "Less drowsy" Dramamine (It's just meclizine) and was completely fine sitting in the way back. The road was windy, with many hairpin turns and oneway bridges. I never felt unsafe with our driver. There are many more less affordable options than this one, so I suppose if the minivan is a turn-off for you, don't book this. But if you're booking last minute and simply don't care about the conditions given that you may otherwise miss out on this experience like we were, go for it. It was worth it.

Great time - gorgeous views

Great time, such a fun experience and are very happy we did it. The sunrise wasn’t great but that’s a weather thing, not much can be done about that. Seeing the crater was amazing, what gorgeous views of the island. Made it 100% worth it. The ride up the mountain was very relaxing, our guide Billy was fun, engaging and very informative about the park and surrounding areas. I was a little concerned about doing the self guided tour instead of the guided one where they help block traffic but I’m very glad we did. Traffic was very light and as long as you follow the rules on staying to the right, passing on the left and so on it’s easy. We were able to stop and go at our own pace and didn’t need to wait for anyone or go faster than we were comfortable with. Billy told us about the different places to stop for food and things to check out along the way and we were able to do all the stops we wanted. We took the advice of another reviewer and did the bike ride the day after we arrived from the mainland. Did it make getting up at 3am fun, no, was it easier to do it, I don’t know, it was a 4am check in.... We did stay in Paia that first night so we’d be close the Haiku and that did help us get a little extra sleep. The town of Paia with Baldwin beach were a great area to check out the day we arrived. Very much worth a visit. - Dress in layers, it’s super cold at the top but it gets hot as you’re going down. They provide rain gear which I highly recommend using if you don’t have your own. - Watching my 15yr old zoom down the mountain with traffic passing her probably took 10yrs off my life, I wouldn’t do this with a kid that can’t follow instructions or isn’t good on a bike.
