Start your day in Maui with a breathtaking sunrise view of the island from atop its highest peak on this daybreak excursion to Mount Haleakala. This exceptional sunrise experience is sure to be a highlight of your trip to Maui.

Start your trip in the dark of the very early morning with a pickup at your Maui hotel. You’ll then continue by air-conditioned minibus on a scenic drive passing the Kula District. and Maui’s rare silversword plants.

Arriving at the Haleakala National Park, steadily climb by minibus up Haleakala to 9,740 feet elevation to the Visitor Center. You’ll see Maui’s rare and endemic silversword plants that poignantly bloom once, then perish. You’ll also witness the sunrise from the Visitor Center area. The views from Haleakala are nothing short of spectacular. Writer Mark Twain, upon visiting the peak in 1866, wrote that the volcano was “the most sublime spectacle I ever witnessed and the memory of it will remain with me always.”

Observe the first rays of the new day slowly creep across the distant horizon. Soon the sky fills with the majestic glow of the new day, and the warm beams of light creep across the island of Maui, illuminating the land below. It’s a sight you’re sure to remember for many years to come.

At the end of your morning sunrise experience you’ll head to breakfast at a local restaurant and then receive a drop-off back at your Maui hotel, tired but thrilled by your amazing morning trip.

Our driver Al was so fun and energetic and made the hours just fly by! He was also super knowledgeable about Maui and the Haleakala national park. He’s truly a gem and made this tour so much better! But if you do anything during your time in Maui it should be this!!!

This was a great experience to be able to see the sunrise on Haleakala. Be warn that it gets cold and windy up there, so, do dress in layers to wait for the sunrise. A hot cup of coffee and breakfast will help warm you up after the sunrise tour.

The Haleakala Maui sunrise tour with breakfast was terrific. We had a fantastic tour guide. Not sure you are able to select a tour guide, but Preston was terrific! He really wanted to make sure his passengers had a great time and had a fantastic experience. We were able to see both sides of the crater and got to see a silver sword blossom, very rare. Great job! Thanks.

Dino was a fantastic tour guide and capable driver on those twisty roads at 3:00AM. He was determined to be the first tour bus to the top to give our group the first choice in picking our sunrise spot. We had great visibility at the summit and knowing that the previous day’s tour got rain… it just made us appreciate our experience all the more.

No Show Tour Operator

I would have loved to have been able to review this tour, but the tour operator did not pick me up or contact me. Apparently, there is a separate area for tour operators to pick up those going on excursions. This was not made clear to me. My ticket said "pick up at hotel", voice reminder said meet at your group's lobby. I thought my "Group" was my resort, so waited in their lobby. This is the event that I was most looking forward to on my trip to Hawaii, so I was heartbroken that my tour did not happen. I was waiting in the lobby for 35 minutes and had no way to contact the company. The driver did not call or text me, which would have easily solved this problem. Use caution if booking through this company and be sure to check with your hotel/resort if there is a separate area where group excursions meet. My money was refunded, but its does not make up for the fact that I did not get to experience this once in a lifetime event.

Amazing View + Food - but Unprofessional
Honeymoon_Couple

The view was absolutely stunning and the food at the lodge was great with another amazing view. My only large complaint was our tour guide. While he was plenty nice and got us there and back safely, he was giving people a hard time for sleeping on the drive out and kept yelling into the mic and playing loud music. Personally his jokes at 2am were not my cup of tea. Also, I thought the driver wasn't very professional - picking plants that were limited or he claimed illegal to pick and so on sets a really bad example for tourists. Finally, the tour was also kind of strange - he talked about a few things, and when we looked up those facts later they were incorrect or incomplete. Also he very frequently mentioned tourists and how he doesn't like them. He would consistently stop to have cars pass us in the no passing zones which is dangerous for both us and the other cars. He told a lot of the same stories multiple times - specifically about a woman who died biking on the mountain. He also was making some off color jokes about Samoan people which was off putting. Since I was so tired from the drive out there, I just slept on the way back, which made it better. Not sure we would do this again - but again the views and everything we did were amazing. It is a great experience, but I'd maybe look at another option
