Do tip at the end of the tour!

Mark, our guide, was awesome and very knowledgeable!! We saw different kinds of birds, wild boar, alligators, snakes and racoons. The boat trip was pleasant!! Please do not forget to tip your guide. Whatever you can!! A saw many people walk away without tipping, and given how the tourism industry suffered in the last few months, a few extra dollars do help!!

What a great experience!

This was amazing for being our first swamp tour. We had 8 in our group & we all loved it. The weather was perfect! Besides the beautiful vegetation & the many swamp houses along the river, we saw a couple small gators & with one of them the guide loured it to the boat to feed it. Also seen were raccoons, lots of turtles, various types of birds, snakes & spiders. We loved it & all thought it was money well spent. The only downfall was our guide didn't use a microphone so he was hard to hear over the sound of the boat motor even while trolling. Those in the front of the boat couldn't hear him at all. He was however very knowledgeable & had an answer for every question. Overall it was great and we would recommend!

Highlights of the West Pearl River

1. Seeing all the camps of different styles all along the river where we traveled on the tour 2. The tour took us up a bayou where we seen a wild hog who met us along the bank of the bayou. The boat captain threw march mellows at the hog and the hog jumped into the air to catch the march mellows. We also seen a large racoon and the boat captain also threw marsh mellows to the racoon. 3. We entered one bayou that had many large cypress trees. One of the trees had many cypress knees surrounding it and the boat captain said this ltree was about 600 years old, he called it old growth cypress. The boat captain gave detailed discussions on what were were seeing as we traveled the West Pearl River and the Honey Island Swamp

The ultimate tour

, Jul 2020
Our trip was an amazing experience, our tour guide captain Mark was a very knowledgeable guide we saw many gators from the smallest to the biggest which appeared to be around 12 feet. He was an old guy and a little intimidating. We also saw wild hogs, and several different species of water fowl. It was great way to spend a few hours and I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
