Awesome tour, awesome guide
Lana

Keith is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about the music here in New Orleans. Our tour started on Frenchman St. We were regaled with stories of musicians and musical styles and the music as we made our way through the French Quarter to Louis Armstrong Park and Congo Square back to the river walk. We were a small group and loved that Keith took pictures of us at each point of interest along the way. We both highly recommend Keith and this musical tour!

Enthusiastic Guide, But No Studio or Venue Tours
Jennifer

Unfortunately I did not walk away with much information memorized from this tour. The tour guide was enthusiastic and a definite storyteller, but with no baseline knowledge of jazz history I found it difficult to follow and grasp the history in a meaningful way. Music was played along the walk which was a nice touch. Note that this is a tour done on the street; you do not enter any buildings or studios as the description implies with the exception of a laundromat in a building that once was a recording studio. In here, in the back you'll see a few professional photos on the wall of jazz legends with a description of each individual (not exactly what was expected).

Sorry you did not follow that Jazz began on S. Rampart Street before moving into 'town' at Storyville along Basin Street and finally to Bourbon and Frenchmen Streets. Or the progression from the 'Habanero' Tinge as expanded upon by Jelly Roll Morton and Dave Bartholomew. Or how Bartholomew brought Fats to record the 1st Million selling Rock N Roll Record at the 'Home of Rock N' Roll, it had been a laundromat since the 70's. Much apologies that history and time have escaped you in our musical streets. Explaining to persons that a walking music tour takes place in the streets is something I never imagined would need explaining, there is a Jazz Museum if you wanted an exhibit of indoor displays. We are a living history tour of New Orleans Music & Hetitage, please understand we never claimed to be a tour of venues. It is a pandemic and most venues in New Orleans remain shuttered my apologies to this visitor.

Dear Sir, you NEVER SHOWED for this tour. I personally waited on you until a quarter past 10. Sorry you missed the tour, I emailed you when returning home from downtown advising you could take another time slot. Please tell us the address you were at because I was there and even conversed with a representative of the record store about your no show. A simple call from you could have absolved all problems. Deepest regrets you missed the tour.

Fun music tour!

Lots of fun, a great introduction to the music scene in New Orleans. Keith is a great guide; the only problem is that there's so much to say, and only so much time to say it! Awesome to know we were staying very close to Cosimo Matassa's old studio! We later shopped at Louisiana Music Factory.

Thank you. Just after your tour the pandemic struck home. Loved ones lost and artists gone silent. Forgive my delay in responding. New Orleans Music lives, we are here- our love for your appreciation grows.✌🏽❤🎶

Good tour, a ton of information

The guide was more than knowledgeable, a wealth-spring of information . The tour wasn't so much my cup of tea, as I could have gone with a little less detail and more about artists I would have known, but my musical fiance really enjoyed all the extra information. We had a little problem getting there because of the public transit being re-routed, but the guide waited for us and was pleasant and welcoming.

Thanks! I know it can be overwhelming, after all Ernie K. Doe did say "I'm not sure but I believe ALL music came from New Orleans!"

Lots of information. Would like to hear more about Preservation Hall and Frenchman Street. The guy has lots of info, but needs to be able to gauge when he's losing his audience and move on.
