Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Choose a morning or afternoon pickup from the French Quarter and climb aboard your coach for the ride deep into Cajun country. Watch the changing scenery as the cityscape transitions into expansive wetlands. You coach delivers you to the launch point across the Mississippi River, where you’ll transfer to an open‐sided, covered boat and set off on the fun and educational ride.

Your native guide will take you on a wildlife‐spotting expedition through this legendary Louisiana terrain. Glide along the water, viewing the lush greenery and abundant local wildlife, including nesting alligators, egrets, raccoons, snakes, and giant nutria. Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year.  Get great photos and learn about the history and mystery of the swamps, including the culture and ingenuity of the Cajun people who have populated this region for almost 250 years. Your guides will share stories about Cajun music, bayou lifestyle, and culinary traditions — like the creation of Louisiana’s signature gumbo, as well as information about the region’s passionate efforts to preserve the wetlands.

Your coach returns to the French Quarter by mid‐afternoon or evening.

The bus driver and the boat guide was amazing. They were funny and insightful with the “to do’s”!!! Even with the rain the boat guide made sure we saw animals and took great pictures. It was a fun experience!!

Quite the trip. 3 alligators seen, great guide and a huge rain, thunder, lightning storm at the end. Bit scary but we experienced Louisiana weather!!

I learned a lot during the bus drive and I enjoyed nature and got to see some alligators. Everything ran on time with very little wait between things. Two very small negative notes, completely personal and subjective: as a foreigner I had troubles understanding the boat guide's accent, I would have preferred a little bit more clarity and more explanations on the swamp; I don't like the fact that they have a 3 year old alligator you can hold and take picture with, as I don't think it is respectful of the animal. Other than that, everything was great.

Bad weather and horrible communication from staff. They ended up canceling the tour after having us wait under rain and thunder for an hour.

We had an awesome tour and our knowledgeable tour guy was simply amazing. We saw a lot of alligators, snakes & turtles in the swamp. The most amazing experience was holding a baby alligator and posing for pictures. It was a great experience I’ll definitely recommend this tour to friends and family.
