New York Uptown to Downtown Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour plus Attraction Tickets

We booked the 3 day hop on hop off bus tour plus 2 attractions. The bus tour portion was ok except on a Saturday we waited 45 minutes to board a bus at Batter Park. They sent a empty bus and we boarded that expecting it to continue the sight seeing loop. Instead it drove to a stop North of Times Square and asked everyone to get off. We had a very long walk back to our hotel. They advertise a bus tour with a guide and this is somewhat misleading. On one of the days there was a real person on one of the buses. The remainder of that day and the next day it is a recorded message that you listen to with ear phones. The attractions we paid for at the time of booking listed the Empire State Building and 911 Museum as available attractions. When we arrived in New York and went to get our vouchers and tickets as instructed to the Port Authority bus terminal, we were told that we didn't need tickets and the print off we had with the bar code scan is all we needed. We were then informed that the Empire State building attraction was no longer available. The next day we attempted to use our vouchers at the 911 Museum and were told the vouchers were no good and we needed actual tickets. We had waited in line to find this out and were not going to leave, hop on the bus back to the Port Authority to try and straighten this out so we paid for the tickets. We did contact Viator and request a refund for this booking and they did provide us a refund which I thought was the right thing to do.

The only problem we had was at the Empire State Building would not accept our “ticket”. Later the Grayline people said that I needed to come to them and they would have given us the tickets to get in. Wish I’d known that ahead of time.
