Too expensive

Very good tour but expensive. I would recomend the tour if it was cheaper. Not good value for the price

Thank you for your review. We are very glad to read that you enjoyed your tour, but sorry that you felt it was expensive. We work hard to ensure that our tour prices are very competitive, we include all tickets and skip the line reservation slots for our groups. It's also extremely important to us to ensure that we compensate our excellent team of guides appropriately for the wonderful work that they do sharing their knowledge and love of art and history with our guests, and that in doing so we support their valuable profession. We hope and believe that we have found a good balance, enabling us to pay the guides what they deserve and ensuring that top quality guides give our guests great tours for a good value price. We do hope that you enjoyed your stay in Paris and that we will have the opportunity to welcome you on other tours in future.

Fantastic Art tour with an expert Guide!

My group only had two other people so it felt like a private tour. Jessica the tour guide was very well versed and informative and explained the evolution of art through the different eras in a clear and well-defined manner that even I who knows nothing of art could understand. Great tour! Thanks

Great but wish it was longer

Our guide was very knowledgeable in art history, and also quite entertaining. We learned a lot from his presentation. My only concern is that this was the shortest guided tour I’ve ever been on, about an hour and a half in duration, and did not include commenting on many of the very well-known canvases in this museum. We walked past some stellar paintings with no acknowledgement from the guide.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments which are very valuable to us and which allow us to explain a little more how our visits are designed. Group tours in the Musee d'Orsay are limited to 1.5 hours by the museum and we are not allowed to go over this time limit. Our guides ensure that in the time they have alloted they give you as much information as possible about the artworks, the artists and the changing way of life in France at the time the works were created so that you can have a wide understanding of not only the works they show you, but all the other works on display that you are able to explore in your own time after the tour. As you saw it's an incredible museum with so much to see, you can easily spend a very long time in there! Guides hope that they are able to share enough of their knowledge and passion for the artworks on display to allow you to fully enjoy all that the museum has to offer. We hope to have the chance to see you again someday in Paris!

Being able to see the progression paintings of Monet, showing the different seasons as well as Degas, Renoir, Pissarro, etc. Our guide Quinton was wonderful, he was very knowledgeable of the museum, its history and the impressionist works that we were there to see and he kept things interesting.

Incredible introduction to the museum

Jessica taught us so much about the events that sparked and shaped the Impressionist period and inspired the work of the artists.  Surprisingly, there is a bit of scandal associated with the impressionist painters, which I was not aware of! The added drama helped these works (and the people who painted them!) come alive.  This tour is a great introduction to art for non-artists, but it is also a great tour for people who love the Impressionists.  Personally, I don't think a trip to Paris is complete without stopping by to visit Degas's perfect ballerinas, and Jessica was able to provide a lot more the world behind the painting (and sculpting) of those ballerinas.

Fun for the whole family at the Musee d'Orsay!

When I booked this tour, I knew little about the Musee d'Orsay, just that so many people I knew who had visited Paris said it was a must-see. Thanks to this tour and our amazing guide Tristan, my family (two adults, plus 12- and 10-year-old sons) and I feel like we understood not just the "what" of the museum and its works, but the "why" as well. Tristan, who had a fabulous sense of humor as well as deep knowledge about art history, was so good at explaining the big picture history of the art movements represented in the works that we saw; for the first time, I feel like I really get how the various movements flowed and influenced each other. It was very clear that Tristan loves his work. He also deftly handled some of the more scandalous art in a way that was appropriate for our kids, which we deeply appreciated. For that reason I'd highly recommend this tour for families wanting to visit the Musee d'Orsay.
