Choose a morning or afternoon tour and meet in downtown Portland to collect your bike and board the coach to Columbia River Gorge. Use the 45-minute drive as a time to charge up and snap photos before some active exploring of the Gorge’s main attractions.

Upon arriving, transfer to your bike and follow your guide on a leisurely 10-mile (16-km) ride through the hills along the country’s first National Scenic Highway. Stop for short nature hikes through evergreen forests, where you may spy an osprey or an elusive bald eagle. Your guide will lead your trek past hidden waterfalls — take some time to bathe in their cool mist from afar or wade into the shallow pools (with appropriate shoes!).

Snacks will be provided throughout the day, but feel free to bring extras along. Enjoy some nibbles as you head back to Portland. Depending on your tour time, your 5-hour trip will arrive back just in time for lunch or dinner.

This is my second time doing this tour. First with my sister a few years ago and loved it so much I decided to take my husband. It was great! Good guides, safe, and fun :) the biking was easy, hardly had to peddle much due to biking mostly downhill which was fun. I loved smelling the fresh air riding down on the bike. If you’re thinking about this tour... I recommend!

The tour guides were amazing! I had so much fun biking and hiking with them. Our group was pretty small, but it was ideal because of COVID. I'm so glad I went on this tour as it was very much the highlight of my stay here in Portland. Thanks again to my wonderful tour guides!

I had the best time on this trip. The waterfalls and the Gorge are absolutely breathtaking. Ana was a wonderful tour guide. I would highly recommend this trip to those who love nature. The bike riding is tiring though, so be prepared for some short workouts. Although the waterfalls make it ALL worthwhile!

Our entire family enjoyed the tour. Our guide Daniel was super, and provided lots of information on Oregon flora, fauna, and history. Our two boys (ages 10 and 12) loved the biking, but since you are sharing the road with cars, I would not suggested this tour for younger children.

Great time in the Columbia River Gorge

We did the 1/2 day bike and hike of the Columbia River Gorge. Our guide was Keiran who set us up on the bikes, gave good instructions and drove us all to the River. The locations on the Gorge were beautiful and really fun hikes to get there. The bike riding was easy through some very pretty wooded areas and Keiran followed us with the van. There were more waterfalls to view though our time was up, but Keiran offered to take us to more if we had the time which we all did. A very memorable trip made fun and safe. Next time in Portland will definitely do this again.

This type was so great for many reasons. To start, our guide Ana was so friendly and knowledgeable- really good conversationalist so there was never awkward silences. The concept of the tour was great- drive to the top of the hill and coast down on bikes stopping every couple miles for a mini hike to a waterfall or other point of interest. Not too strenuous to deter a someone in average shape but not so easy to be boring. Over all it was 10 miles of biking (80% downhill) and 4 miles of trail walking/hiking
