Don’t do it

Poor organization. Poor instructions. Too many boats allowed at one time. I’m an experienced kayaker and the amount of boats in a narrow canal with inevxperienced paddlers was frustrating and dangerous. Luminescence was minimal. Not worth it !!!

Great guides, low key bio experience

The guides and the drivers were great. The guides made sure to keep us safe, especially Carlos. He helped tow me and my daughter back to the beach, since I had trouble seeing in the dark and got left behind. The actual bio portion of the experience wasn’t much to write about, it’s a lot of work for a few seconds of lightening “bugs” in the water. I wouldn’t recommend it via a kayak, perhaps the glass bottom boat tour would be better. We spent about 3 hrs on the road, about 45 mins kayaking for a few seconds of the “shine”. The company was good though and they really work hard.

Very friendly and well planned. It was a nice dark evening and they gave us tarp to see the phytoplankton better too. The night kayak ride was really lovely, recommend it.

The bay was amazing definitely a site to see! Definitely have to be in decent shape for the kayaking but the guides made it enjoyable.

I don't recommend this excursion. Too many people at once.

The transportation ended up taking an hour and 20 minutes then we had to wait a while once we arrived. There was so many people that it made kayaking the river too congested. Everyone was running into each other and getting stuck in the trees. We have to constantly stop to avoid running into the groups in front of us. I wouldn't recommend this excursion.

Too much money for too little. Wouldn’t recommend.

Didn’t see anything. Was under the impression that we would see lights under the water but we didn’t see anything, we had to shake the water to see a tiny light which didn’t even look like a light. More like bubbles. I think it was a big waste of money.

Tour guides were excellent and knowledgeable. Made the trip fun and even found some animals along the way.

Not as advertised

If you like tarps, rice, sprite, and kayaking down a turbulent river in the dark with hundreds of NARPs who don’t understand basic laws of physics to turn their boat - then this trip is for you. If you enjoy risk taking activities like grabbing on to snake like tree branches in the pitch black dark and nearly being impaled by branches, or potential snakes - then, book this FOR SURE! If you like getting verbally abused by your guides and practicing war time drills then drop your dollars here. There is no bioluminescence. It’s a farce. The food is a joke. The kayak tour is completely mental and dangerous. Nothing is as advertised. Shout out to Michael for saving our lives - bc yes they had to be saved.

Bio-less

Our guide leaving us behind and the trip was really all about kayaking rather than seeing any bioluminesence.

Food sucked, it's a bunch of rice with 2 chunks of chicken, thats the all inclusive dinner not even cocktails. The kayak experience sucked. The lead kayaker left all of us couldn't see where we were going, gave no directions about trees to avoid. Then when we got out to the bay there was no bioluminescent. We even had to put a sand, dirty tarp over us to kind of see something. Not sanitary during covid. Our driver of the van sucked at driving, ran red lights, didn't wear a seat belt and went really fast.
