It was difficult to hear...

It was difficult to hear and understand our bus tour guide as she was speaking in 3 languages at one time (Italian, English, & spanish)
A long journey to a short tour
, Dec 2021
The size of Pompeii is very impressive. However the ride to and fro is far too long from Rome. Total tour is 11 hours and you spent 6 to 7 hours on the bus. Lunch and toilet breaks take up another 2 hours. You are left with 2 hours or so for the tour.

Seeing the ruins of Pompeii was incredible. Our tour guide of the ruins was very knowledgeable. Worth the drive.
Good tour

Loved the tour at Pompeii. However, too much time spent in Naples. Lunch was just so-so. Be prepared for a very long day.

A great day trip drone Rome.

Tour was excellent and well organized. It is a long day but well worth the time and money. City tour of Napoli hit many of the old town highlights. Pompeii tour was excellent.
Highly recommend

I loved all of our guides Rosella and Paula were very well informed. Everyone was very friendly. I fell going into lunch and they all couldn’t be more concerned and helpful. Thank you all for a very good day trip.
Excellent tour!

Connie was our guide and she was fantastic! A quick tour of Naples and then on to Pompeii. Everyone there seemed to know and love Connie. She was an amazing guide and a wonderful person. Bring water and a hat or umbrella. There is little shade there.

Everything was excellent, guides and driver Very well organized you get to know as many as possible Thanks
Good but could be better
, Feb 2020
The description says nothing about Naples being included and the tour guide was more centered towards Spanish even though we had booked a English speaking tour. This bothered me as I was on a bus for 3 hours to walk around a city I hadn’t booked for and only leaving 2 hours for Pompei which I feel we only covered a little amount of it. We also weren’t given enough time at the end to go through the museum, take photos and go around the stalls. The driver for the pickup was also 10 minutes late. The bus ride was comfortable and staff there were excellent.

Dear Patrick, thanks for your review that is valued feedback for us. We suppose you made your reservation on Viator (if not, please send us an email at indicating what website you made your booking on): we're going to check our Viator activity write-up and make sure it is as clear as possible in terms of setting the correct expectations. We are pretty sure Naples in mentioned, but if not we'll immediately open a ticket for our Content Department colleagues to take a look and improve the tour description. That said, we're glad you enjoyed the ride and the guidance of our professional staff. Kind regards, the Gray Line I Love Rome Team
Skip Naples, go by train instead.

Wasted a good deal of time getting in and out of Naples for a short walk around. Found the guide to be unremarkable. Too much time on the bus for just 2 hours at Pompeii

Dear Jeffrey, we appreciate your feedback and thanks for taking the time to publish it. Other clients expressed qualms in the past about the Naples portion of the tour and the two-hour visit to the ruins of Pompeii in terms of the former being negligible and the latter a little too short. We understand this viewpoint and we take feedback seriously; however, we assure you that how the standard day is structured is the result of a process that aimed to manage the destination in such a way that our guests could be able to experience the Campania region in full - getting to know a little bit of Naples, having a relaxed lunch to taste real pizza and admiring the highlights of Pompeii. Believe us when we say that a multi-hour visit to the archaeological site would be too much to take. Which, on the other hand, can always be organized as a private or semi-private tour should one only be interested in that. As for your tour guide, we understand your expectations weren't met, so if you want to discuss this further and provide us your booking code, please send us an email to Kind regards, the Gray Line I Love Rome Team
