Mexican Street food, Tijuana Day trip from San Diego

I booked this trip for my wife and I for our 34th anniversary. This trip isn’t for the faint of heart and people without spandex pants. The parking location is a bit of a pain and it’s expensive, we went past the 8 hours by a minute and it cost us an additional $25.00. Be aware! Getting to the pick up point was a bit confusing but once we figured it out all was well. Our tour guide Humberto was a young hipster, polite, welcoming and excited on our behalf. He was both patient and knowledgeable of all things Tijuana and food. The walk to the first taco place wasn’t bad but the obstacle course of pot holes did give the walk a bit a delicious danger. The Birria tacos were in my view the best of show, a bit crunchy, savory, spicy and a whole lotta of #•!*%# great goodness! I would go back just for these any day all day!! The second destination was somewhere in middle earth plenty of both interesting characters and colorful businesses. The taco/quesadillas were made with blue corn tortillas, chicken, cheese and a home made blob of vendor love. These probably were better than the first tacos but it’s hard to decide when your taste buds are in control of your heart and mind! The Mango margarita was sublime and the only thing missing was the second and third one!! We moved on to some craft beers that we drank overlooking all of Tijuana in a bar that resembled a speak easy with popcorn and spicy chips! The final destination was a more traditional taco and the king taco was definitely the taco de adobada. We also had to try the cabeza and the asada just to make sure our tank was full for the passage back home. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you are a foodie or you seek a fun interesting experience. The experience was safe, fun and the other tour guests that we met were Amazingly interesting and fun! Put on your walking shoes, your expandable pants and empty your stomach because you won’t regret the treasure that awaits you on the other side of the border. Salud y bien provecho!

The tour guide was terrific. Showed us much culture and local spots to eat. Very energetic and friendly.

We had a wonderful time! Our tour guide was so great! He knew so much about the food and history of Tijuana. I learned so much. The food was amazing. Everyone was so kind. I made new friends. I would definitely go again or on another one of the day trips they offer!!

Victor was a great guide! So knowledgeable and friendly. It felt like spending the day with a friend!

Had the most amazing birthday trip! Our guide (bodyguard) is the best and I highly recommend him. He showed us all around and the food choices were excellent 👌!!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful time, and our guide, Fernando (also the manager of the company) was fun, knowledgeable, and hilarious. If you're planning to visit TJ for an afternoon for the first time, this is a great way to do it. Our only regret was not buying any of the coffee-flavored Tequila at the tasting he brought us to. Don't be like us!

We had a wonderful time being guided around Tijuana by Victor. Victor is a knowledgable guide who takes quiet but obvious pride in his city and job. He explained the history of the different areas in a very accessible way. He took us to dining spots for casual food and explained the menus very capably. I was particularly impressed with the compassionate way he addressed street people that approached our group occasionally. We would highly recommend this tour, particularly if it is conducted by Victor!

Humberto was an awesome tour guide. We had so much fun, visited a few places, ate authentic Mexican tacos at 3 different restaurants, went tequila tasting, did a lot of shopping 🛍 and stopped for margaritas. It isn’t a tour bus, we take a taxi/van into town and then walk but it’s an experience you can’t get hopping on and off the bus or one you will never forget. If you’re in doubt don’t be just do it!

Our guide Gregorio was great. He was really informative, answered all of our questions, and was great to hang out with. He is the type of guy I’d hang out with any day. I cannot recommend him enough. The tour was great and I would do it again!
