Feel worlds away from San Diego with just a short drive as you journey across the Mexican border into Tijuana for several hours of shopping and sightseeing. It’s the perfect chance to add some international culture, crafts and cuisine to your next San Diego visit.

Start your trip with an afternoon pickup from your San Diego hotel or Kettner Boulevard, continuing by air-conditioned coach across the Mexican border and into Tijuana. Once you arrive, continue to the city’s Cultural Center, featuring a range of art and rotating exhibitions on contemporary Mexican culture. Then head to the Zona Rio, a district that includes the giant Rio Mall and statues of famous Mexican figures like the Aztec King Cuahutemoc, along with American political leaders like Abraham Lincoln.

Head next to the now-demolished Tijuana Bullring and to see the Tijuana Water Tower. You may be getting hungry by this point, so help stave off your cravings you’ll make a stop to make your very own Mexican taco, filling a tasty tortilla a selection of meat, chicken and veggies, plus toppings including guacamole, cilantro, salsa and onion. Before concluding your excursion, make a stop at Avenida Revolución (Revolution Avenue) a street renowned for its shopping, so you can hunt for a few bargains.

It says I have to rate the company. Truely I don't want to. The tour company did not show up. No notification to me. I had already contacted them to ask for hotel pick up so they knew I was going. I rang and got voice mail. So I was left standing in station for ages late on a Sunday afternoon...... pfft! Today is monday. Hopefully office open get full refund.

If you have time over during your vaccination. Don’t spend it in Tijuana. It’s a terrible city and it did not help you got Teccila in a smal plastig glas and Taco . No softs drink was not included. Expensive!

Waste of time and money. Zero site seeing. Most of the time was spent in the van. People very friendly at tequila tasting, but venue shabby. Same with restaurant. Restroom not pleasant. Not a pleasant experience

Viva La Mexico!!

We were picked up in plenty of time at our Hotel. Our driver was Juan, nice fella and well educated with information along the drive into Mexico. Stopped at a shop for some Tequila tasting and also at a restaurant for some Beef Taco's, which were delicious. Had around 2 hours time to do some shopping around Tijuana. All round it was excellent!

Not what we anticipated...
Stacey_J
, Aug 2019
This trip was not what we anticipated at all. It was good to get some commentary about areas of Tijuana, but as a tourist having never been to this country before, it was very daunting with an 11 year old daughter being dropped off on a street (without maps) and with very little direction, and the same applied when we were dropped off at the mexican border. We were somewhat disappointed, as we really looked forward to this trip.

I had a great time. I was a little nervous at first but Marco made it so pleasant. Showed us a lot of the history of Tijuana and never felt rushed in the shops and taking pictures.

Not worth the price... The only good thing was that we got to and from faster than we would normally get across. Other than that I'll will be nice and leave it at that...

Seamless trip to TJ
Jessica R
, Jun 2019
I booked this trip as a solo traveler and had some worries about traveling to TJ. It was nothing but safe and friendly and I’m glad I went. The “snack” was chips and pico, two tacos and some beans and it was very filling. I’m vegetarian so I ate beforehand and I didn’t need to. They made a guac and cheese taco for me special, which was appreciated. I ordered a margarita and it was only $5.00 US. You get 2ish hours to walk around and explore and shop. I was able to bring back some Mexican candies and a bottle of tequila, both of which I paid with credit card so it was super easy. I would recommend this trip, but do not think this is a guided tour, you are on your own when shopping.

It was canceled about an hour before we were scheduled to leave, they had issues with their driver. They did offer to reschedule or to refund, due to a time constraint we took the refund.

I give 1 star for the travel and 3 for the actual tour part. The air conditioning wasn't working well in the van and my husband and I were crammed in the last row of seats. Very hot and uncomfortable. Could not here the guide most of the time. The shopping was ok, the food ok but was hoping for more history of the city and less touristy stuff.

We really enjoyed our half day trip...

We really enjoyed our half day trip to Tijuana. We had already visited several Mexican ports on a cruise, so we wanted to visit Tijuana to compare the city to the coastal areas we had visited. It was very, very different! There is nothing picturesque about Tijuana - it is an urban sprawl, and it is a stark contrast to the beautiful San Diego which is just over the border, a mere 20 km away. Our driver was very good, and he offered some commentary, and answered questions during the trip. The bus was very modern and comfortable with ample space for the five passengers on board. We enjoyed a light meal in a Mexican restaurant in Tijuana and our driver then took us to a leathergoods shop the prices were great and a liquor store where we were able to taste and purchase various Tequilas. We were then free to wander the street and shop on our own for a couple of hours. We found the prices of handicrafts and clothing etc to be on par with the other places we had already visited in Mexico. The border crossing was quick and easy on the way over but a bit longer on the way back. It was very interesting for us though, as we had never experienced a border crossing before. Overall, I would recommend this trip to anyone who has never experienced Mexico. It's a fun afternoon and an easy trip from San Diego.
