    Muir Woods National Monument and the village of Sausalito are two of the most popular things to do north of San Francisco. This convenient tour from the city makes it easy to check off both from your list, plus take a San Francisco Bay cruise for even more photo ops.

    Your morning starts with a drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, where you’ll stop to take in views from Vista Point on your way to Muir Woods. Enjoy ample time to walk along paths through the forest of old-growth coastal redwoods, known for being some of the oldest and tallest trees in the world.

    Then head to Sausalito, a picturesque small town nestled between the Marin Headlands and San Francisco Bay on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Take a walk on the waterfront, grab a snack (own expense) or check out the art galleries and shops. Once back in San Francisco, board your Bay Cruise departing from Pier 39.

    Your narrated cruise takes you underneath the bridge (weather permitting) and past Alcatraz Island. Enjoy views of the city skyline and the local sea lions, and then end your tour with a drop-off at Pier 39.

    Great tour!! Early start but so worth it to get to Muir Woods at 9am while still relatively quiet. Our tour guide was great, sharing lots of interesting facts on the journey and great food and drinks tips (fish tacos and pineapple margarita in Sausalito are highly recommended!). The bay cruise was fun, sadly for us the bridge was pretty covered in fog but we still got a good view when we reached it. Tips for the boat tour - however warm it seems you may need a jumper, and however cold it seems you may want to consider sunscreen as the cold wind can be deceptive!!

    I was so disappointed, I got excited for the Muir Woods, but we only got an hour and half, it takes 5 1/2 hrs to complete, was not enough time to see anything, should at least be 3 hrs. Then I had the boat tour, that diesn't start till 2 hrs after, so I just didn't do it since I had a flight to catch, I thought it will be right after the tour not 2 hours after. A total DISAPPOINTMENT in this tour!!!

We would like to address some points mentioned in your review, so other travelers get a better understanding of how our tour works: 1/ This tour does not only cover Muir Woods. We have a stop scheduled at Sausalito too (mentioned in the tour name) 2/ Unfortunately, National Park allows tour operators to stay only for 90 minutes only in Muir Woods. We would love to offer a more extended experience, but it is not in our hands. If anyone is looking to spend more time there, we suggest they rent a car and plan the day accordingly, adding more flexibility to their experience. Tip: remember that parking reservations are needed in advance. 3/ We will review the description of this tour because we believe it is clearly explained that it combines a Muir Woods tour during the morning and a Bay Cruise ride during the afternoon. We explain as well in the tour description that the Bay Cruise schedule is subject to ferry operator availabilities, so we encourage customers to check the times beforehand to plan their trip.     Great trip…but only take it if you are looking to get a lot done in a short amount of time. This is not an excursion for people who like to “dwaddle.” You leave on time and your stops at landmarks are 5-8 minutes. Muir Woods was 75 minutes and not a minute more. Salsalito was pretty but you could barely grab a quickly lunch or visit a shop or two before it was time to go back. The Bay Cruise is a must. So, while I actually enjoyed this and would recommend it, it is definitely not for anyone who has mobility issues or anyone who likes to stop and take their time and look at everything. You get off, you look, you take your picture and you keep it moving.

    We had a very nice tour guide Archie. He did a great job giving us the history and highlights of all the areas we visited. Our pick up location was easy to find (Union Square area). The only thing we were disappointed about is that our bay tour that we were going to take at 2:00 had just changed the day of the tour to the next time of 5:00 (the hours Changed because the schools were back in Session). Other than the time change it was definitely the best way to see Muir Woods. Sit back and relax
