Jaime Benitez National Park (outdoor park by Condado Lagoon) Corner of Calle Vieques and Wilson Ave, San Juan, PR 00907. We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes prior to class starting to check in and getting settled before starting promptly at 4pm. Free street parking all around but can be crowded.

This activity will end right where it started.
Make your way to the Condado area of San Juan for your 1-hour salsa dancing class. Meet your guide, an international dance teacher originally from Holland, who is experienced in teaching both beginners and more skilled students. No experience is necessary, the instructor will tailor the dance lessons to each individual's needs. 

Get out on the floor with your instructor and fellow students to learn what is commonly called 'LA-style' Salsa, which often features showy, flashy, and includes big moves and tricks. The timing of this style is a bit easier to pickup than other styles, and is well-suited to beginners.

Feel free to stick around after the 1-hour class to eat dinner or grab drinks at the restaurant on site. The restaurant features works by local artist Sahid Perez and sometimes plays live music.

  • A minimum of 4 people per class is required. If minimum requirements are not met you can be added to an existing group on a different day or you will be offered a full refund.

Fun and instructive class for beginners

We came as a couple and with friends. Our teacher Nicole did a great job of teaching us the basics and managing a large group. We all had a fun time. One thing we were surprised by was how we learned singles dancing, instead of couples dancing. Other than this, it was a great experience and we would recommend it to other travelers coming to San Juan!

Stephen was great! Everyone felt welcome and involved. His instructions were great and easy to understand for all levels. He was really enthusiastic and offered really good suggestions on where we could go to enjoy salsa dancing and nightlife. Definitely recommend! This was a great way to get our vacation started. (Bring water. Dress comfortably. Maybe a small towel to dry off.)

Nicole was a fantastic instructor! Did an excellent job of balancing a fun, easygoing atmosphere for beginners with actual learning. Definitely would take another salsa class led by her. This class was a fun intro to salsa. Recommend the later in the day class since it's outside and would be quite hot earlier in the day.

Great instructor. Super enthusiastic and made learning the salsa simple and fun. My boyfriend and I had so much fun and we even got a good video of us salsa dancing. Definitely recommend. And then go use your dance moves at La Placita.

The instructor Kayra was awesome! The reason I gave it 3 stars was because the location was a dog park. While I'm attempting to have fun I have random and known violent dogs (pit bulls) unleashed running behind me and some even through were we located . This was not disclosed and I was unable to really enjoy snd finish the class due to my anxiety about the dogs that none of the owners seemed to care where Interfering with the class . I feel like this should have been disclosed prior or when booking.

The class leader was very professional. He took his time and made sure that we all learned the steps, the rhythm, the process of becoming a Salsa dancer. He made it very fun. He told us history about the salsa dance as well. I highly recommend this class. It was one of the highlights our trip.
