Excursion with Hamlett

Our driver was Hamlett, he was very knowledgable about the island, he grew up on the island. He gave us enough time at each location. This excursion was not booked through Royal and in the future I plan to book through viator and not Royal. we only had 5 people on the excursion which made it nice. Our friends that took the same excursion through Royal said there was about 20 or more on their excursion and said it was so crowded to sit. Magens Bay Beach was beautiful, it was more crowded on the beach but we were still able to find a place to put our chairs that they rent. Thanks Hamlett for an enjoyable experience.

Fantastic Tour! Hamblet was our driver and he was great! Gave us a lot of history and interesting facts along the way. Length of tour was good and the views were amazing! Magens Beach became a bit too crowded later on though

We have taken a number of Viator...

We have taken a number of Viator tours and have yet to be disappointed. If your interested in getting a overview of St. Thomas, this is the tour for you. Our tour guide Marilyn picked us up at the ship and took us from there on a trip to the mountain top. We stopped along the way to take some photos and look at some historic buildings. The St. Peter's Great House and gardens were a welcome change. We got some nice photos there, besides the garden, the views were amazing from this location, some of those photos have been included here. You should be prepared to travel up steep narrow, winding roadways while traveling to the mountain top, our tour guide was born on the island so we were in good hands. Some people expressed concern about using a non endorsed cruise excursion, this should not be a concern. I didn't give it 5 stars because we would have enjoyed learning more history about the island

Since we were the only cruise ship...

Since we were the only cruise ship in port, we had a private tour for three. Our driver/guide, Hamlet, was kind, courteous, and accommodating. We were able to spend more time at a location we really enjoyed, St. Peter's Great House. Wonderful place for a special event or just walking the nature trail. Mountain Top, on the other hand, is a one-time visit and I'd never go back. It is an overpriced souvenir shop, although the views are spectacular. The world famous banana daiquiri was terrible - pre-made, outrageously expensive, and didn't taste right. We liked everything else on the tour.
