Knowledgeable guides and great tour

Lot of background info from guides. Explaining what we will see and describing the wildlife. Was somewhat disappointed in the lack of colorful coral, but that’s not the guides’ fault. Extra add-on feeding tarpon (awesome) and birds(neat). Guides did a good job leading us in the water and pointing out turtles, rays, etc

Can't wait to do it again!!!!

We had a very tiny group so they put us in with another larger group. We were a little hesitant at first but the crew was great! It is very important to read the instructions that they give for the day. It is a long and amazing day. We did take a few snacks with us because I get low blood sugar and I ended up sharing with a few other people because it is a long day and you will be using a lot of energy.
I am not a strong swimmer but I was dying to see the reef, the guide pulled me around, himself, while I was also swimming behind him and I did not feel left out at all. He took special care to make sure I got the full experience. He made sure everyone in the group saw everything he saw and gave us so much good information. A few of the people in our group did not get in the water at all but the crew member that stayed on the boat pointed all kinds of interesting things out to them and interacted with the ocean birds to keep them engaged.
I was scared to go because I am not a strong swimmer but I had an amazing experience and can't wait to go again. It is a little harder for people with facial hair to get a good seal on their face mask so they may collect water and fog up more frequently. I recommend men shave before going. My husband had facial hair at the time and couldn't get a good seal with the mask and had issues with water coming into the mask.
I highly recommend this excursion! It was so awesome.

Great variety of sea creatures

We enjoyed seeing manatees, green sea turtles, nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays and many types of fish. We also stopped to feed some tarpon and visited some sea horses. We had a blast with Captain Phillip and his crew. They balanced out the day perfectly, giving us plenty of time in the water to see as much as we could ever want.

Must do snorkelling tour

Excellent tour. Everything we were after and more! Saw Manatee’s, turtles, stingrays and sharks. The small group setting is perfect as you get to the different spots faster than the larger sailing boats. Phillip, and his crew Ash and Wilson were very helpful and made sure we were safe and having a good time exploring. They’re also very respectful of the marine life while allowing us to explore their world.
10/10. Great day

Great guides and sights but bad communication

I really enjoyed the tour as such and you get to be in the water a lot during this tour as you go different sites to snorkel around. The guides are fun and like to joke around but they are serious about protecting you and the maritime wild life. The food was good too! The only thing I have to criticise quite a lot is the lack of communication. The mention you can get the ferry tickets through them if you stay outside of Caye Caulker, so I inquired about it and was told it's 15 USD. Fine, so I told them I'd like to have them and how to proceed, where to get them etc. I never got a reply (this was in Dec.) Then the day before I enquired again and haven't received a reply yet again, as I only have a foreign phone the charge it would have been for me to pay a call was too high. So I had to pay double the fare for the ferry in the end as I didn't know if the tickets had been put aside or whatever. Upon arrival I then was told to pay for the tickets, fortunately I didn't have to pay them after I explained that I never heard back but I would have liked to hear that they are sorry for the lack of communication which didn't happen. Then I also found out that we could be dropped at San Pedro, which was nowhere communicated and didn't even seem to be an option. Apparently it is though if you have a min. of 5 people stay there. It would have been great to have this communicated as I wasted money on a) the ferry in general and then b) also on the return, as I obviously bought it as a return trip in order to safe there at least. So make sure to inquire about this beforehand, especially if you are more than 5 people...
But that aside it is definitely worth it!
Response from Host , Jan 2020
Thanks for your honest review about our guides and their enthusiasm and love for the wild life. We try to keep that same level with all our guides.
The ferry tickets are actually just and extra favor we try to help our guests with to try to help them save money as much as possible. Being a operation with a small staff it is actually really difficult for us to do this as the tickets are only valid for a few days, so we need to constantly monitor the requests so we can do them close to the tour date. We do have a lot of other logistics to deal with so sometimes the extra favors get put to one side. Therefore, we mainly offer them to bigger groups that are easier to keep track of. That is probably why your request slipped through the cracks. This in no way means you were any less valuable to us as we try to show ALL our guests the same attention. We do truly offer our sincerest apologies for this and hope you understand our side.

Hol Chan was amazing. Part of the tour was guided and then part you were able to explore the reef solo. Swim with sharks and rays! So much fun! Philip was awesome. They take a go pro and send you pictures and videos at the end of the day.

You must do this tour! This was our second Hol Chan tour but this was much better due to the smaller group size and more personalized experiences. Phillip and Ash made the day so much fun, providing lunch, beverages, and lots of laughs and fun. A MUST DO!

Highlight of our trip! Professional, fun, adventurous, relaxing

We absolutely LOVED our snorkeling trip with Nauti Times to Hol Chan! We even went for a full day 2 days in a row! The size of the group was perfect, they provided lunch, and they made safety of the participants as well as the marine animals a priority. The guides- Karim, Phillip, and Ash, were welcoming, funny, playful, and extremely knowledgeable. Even though we were gone all day we never got bored and were constantly entertained. If we go back to Caye Caulker this will be #1 on our list. Thanks guys!
