Carlos, our tour guide was great
He waited for us when we were late and our taxi driver got lost. He gave us some history of Tulum and made it interesting. The highlight of the trip was cliff jumping. So much fun. Bring water shoes to walk on rocks. Altogether wonderful. Cenotes are amazing.
Excellent adventure!

We did the 3 cenotes, half-day trip with Martine. There were seven of us (our kids are ages 21 - 5). It was simply incredible - exciting, beautiful, fascinating. Martine was friendly and warm and extremely knowledgeable and helpful at every step along the way. Highly recommend to anyone. For our youngest it was somewhat overwhelming and he needed a lot of support from parents, but overall just fantastic. Thank you!!

Amazing experience swimming in cenotes

Our first time in cenotes and it was amazing. We visited three of them, all different and special. The water is crystal clear, you can see fishes, turtles, and even bats if you go inside the cave. Our guide Martin is very knowledgeable and fun. SO much that we went on another trip with him the following day. Highly recommended.

Was too long. I think the first two cenotes would have been enough. Also got a lot of mosquito bites. Not the tours fault but hope people understand cannot wear bug spray and i mostly got bitten in the car so be prepared.
BEST CENOTE TOUR!

FABULOUS TOUR! Carlos was amazing and I can’t even say enough about how much fun we had. In the morning at Casa Cenote, we had the whole Cenote to ourselves and we swam and really enjoyed the scenery. After, we went to the second Cenote Zemway where we were able to jump off platforms into the clearest and bluest water. Lastly, we headed to Gran Cenote. It was such an amazing experience with the clear water, the cave swimming, the bats and swallows. You DO NOT want to miss this tour!
Awesome cenote tour!

These 3 cenotas were all so different yet all beautifully breathtaking. The description said one was the “temple of doom” but our guide said that one was not on the tour and it was for divers: I was disappointed but I have to say, the one we went to instead of that one was absolutely amazing- my kids all loved jumping from the high platforms and diving off the side of a low platform , and the water was so cold and clear on a hot day. The other 2 cenotes gave very different experiences but were both amazing. I will advise wearing the life jackets on the cenote where it is optional; we are good swimmers and it would be 30 min of straight swimming without one , with nowhere to hold onto if you got tired, plus there is a current. We all wore them. Martin was very knowledgeable and fun to be with - he encouraged me to jump from the high platform and made me feel comfortable! Fun was had by all in our family of 6 from ages 13 to 48. There were only 2 others in our group (probably since we have a large family, but it was nice and small) Definitely a great tour.
Wonderful Cenotes tour with Martin

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and the unique perspective that Summer brought as a seasoned extreme cave diver. We had a great time with what felt like going off the beaten path and truly had an adventurous experience. Summer was informative, entertaining and passionate about the environment and the ecology. Be warned though, you should be ready to get out of your comfort zone if you want to truly enjoy it.
Great Experience with Summer!!!

Unsafe and Rude
Tyler_B
, May 2022
I'm not usually one for writing negative reviews, but in this case this operator crossed the line from being disappointing to actively unsafe and rude to the guests. TLDR: the tour guide called us "p*ssies" for not wanting to go into challenging environments, actively ignored safety rules and encouraged guests to do the same, and actually injured herself as a result.
This is a three-cenote tour, so I'll break down what happened in chronological order:
At the first cenote, there was an option to swim under a low rock outcropping into an enclosed overhead environment. Although presented as "optional," the guide pressured people who didn't want to go in, including telling people uncomfortable with the closed space "don't be p*ssies" when they expressed hesitation.
At the second cenote, she told the group that life jackets were optional until she got chased down by a staff member and told that they were, in fact, mandatory for all. Even so, she told people that they weren't necessary and didn't wear hers at several points. This cenote had a rope swing - the two guides were trying to one-up each other, climbing higher and higher up the rope, doing flips, etc. until our guide overshot a swing back and fell into the dock, hitting her back HARD in the process. She was clearly in pain and needed help back onto the dock (had she been wearing her life jacket, it might have cushioned the impact).
At the third cenote, she again told people not to wear life jackets and encouraged people not to wear them, even though we had been swimming for ~2 hours at this point and the tour had guests of varying fitness levels and comfort in the water. We had to insist on life jackets for my wife and I. At the end of the mangrove, she again called the guests who didn't want to swim under the roots "p*ssies."
All in all, an extraordinarily rude, unsafe, unpleasant experience.

Hi guys I’m so sorry for what happened and I will talk to the guide. Please could you give me your name and day of the tour so that we can redound you. I would also like to call you to get to know more about what happened. Again I’m so sorry. Your guide was Summer and as you can read here she’s getting all 5 star reviews so we are really shocked for what has happened
Fantastic experience!

Summer was an amazing guide! She was knowledgeable, fun, and attentive. She constantly went above and beyond for everyone on the tour. I would never have done what we did on this tour if we had gone on our own! Definitely worth it! Summer also gave us some great restaurant recommendations for after, which made our whole day even better!

We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.
