Murano glassmaking fun
Donna_J
, May 2022
This was a fun tour - we traveled over to Murano and saw examples of the glassblowing process. May 1st in Italy is like our Labor Day in September so the entire workshop was not in but the examples were great fun to watch a couple different processes. We enjoyed each making a mosaic (or we could make a piece of jewelry) - it is harder than you may think :) Then we had time to shop before making our way back on our own - we had ACTV passes so no problem there. I would definitely go back again - the glassworks are beautiful.

It was great to see the glass making in person and also make our own pieces. The show room was beautiful and also picked up some pieces.

Good experience for families

Guide was friendly and on time, the workshop time was active enough for little kids but not too complex to confuse kids or long where you had to worry about attention spans. Staff at the shop and factory were friendly also. Would recommend for families.

The glass blowing demonstration was interesting. Other than that a lot of pressure in showrooms. I don’t think we would do this again.

It was an incredible experience. The staff at Murano were warm and inviting. The finished products were a sight to behold.

Don’t bother.

We met our tour guide who proceeded to walk us across the island to the Vaporetto (using our own tickets, thankfully we had them!) Walked us to the factory and left us there. Nothing special about this trip we could have done on our own. Unnecessary money spent.

Seeing the man blowing the glass to create a tumbler then a horse. A gentleman was hi it’s great talk explaining what was going on/each process.

The visit is really disappointing, very little to see in the glass factory, guide didn't explain anything. Very expensive.

Great experience

Our guide was so friendly and taught us how to use the Vaporetto system. He spoke English super well and taught us the history of Murano as well as highlighting the glass blowing process. Once at the factory, the Master glass blower was totally amazing. Paulo was a sweet man who took us through the gallery. We also took away our own original piece of jewelry that we got to make in the work shop. Truly a great experience.

We had a great time. Such an interesting demonstration and fun looking at all of the handmade pieces. However, our favorite part was getting to take home a unique piece we made.
