This tour provides a great introduction to the distinct flavors of Venetian cuisine. Make your way to meet your guide and the other members of this small-group tour. Your first stop is a bar that occupies the former site of a charcoal store. Soak up the historic character and sample cicchetti such as marinated olives and polenta wedges topped with seafood.

Stroll over to the Cannaregio neighborhood and duck into an 18th-century watering hole on the bustling Strada Nuova. Sink your teeth into some of the bar’s famous polpette, or spicy fried meatballs. From here, cross the Grand Canal on a traghetto passenger ferry (own expense) and stop at the historic, open-air Rialto Market, where many Venetians shop for daily fresh produce and seafood.

I fell into the canal upon arrival and was not feeling up to the tour. We knew we were too late technically to cancel. Our hotel concierge called and we were told to email a given address. We did so when we got home and were flat out refused.

This was an amazing tour! From our guide who had so much great and interesting Information about the small tastes to the City of Venice, I would highly recommend this tour. We visited quite a few very small bacaro’s and had many tasty bites that really filled us up. The spots were hidden and really no where we would have found on our own! If you are looking for something fun and worthwhile to do while in Venice, choose this tour!

So our tour guide was honestly really great. She gave us a little history, was friendly and quite informative. The only thing was, for the price you pay, I’d say this tour is too short. We were there for a little over 2 hours, tried several wines, were fed some good cicchetti, but I feel like I was left wanting more. We all ended up grabbing drinks after, which was nice, but I don’t feel like I got to appreciate the food and drink enough. So yeah, a little pricey but definitely a good experience.
