Waste of money

Cannot get on at any stop. Went to two stops that were blocked off by construction. Wasted time by taking the metro to try another stop only to be disappointed. I wish I could get my money back but after reading some of these reviews, I'm glad I didn't get on the bus.

Be sure to grab the headphones because that is the only way you will know where to get off if you want to see something at a certain stop. We didn't have our earphones on, and the driver drove right through Arlington Cemetery. We wanted to stop there but the bus didn't stop.

Not good

None of the federal government buildings, cherry trees and their historic significance, statues and other important structures and history were discussed. Additionally the drop off and pick up sites are not clearly marked.

I highly recommend this tour. I did the loop twice and switched sides of the bus so I could see everything. Hopped off at a couple of stops and explored. Looking forward to the nighttime part on Thursday.

Stranded by the bus

We bought a one day pass. All over the world, the day usually starts when you start the tour. We bought tickets online and started the tour only after 11:00 am. We only did a couple of stops and went off for lunch etc. when we got back on the bus to really start the majority of our tour, the driver said it was 5:00 pm and it was the end of the tour. Essentially we were out of the bus and car from the hotel after about 6 hours of use.

Wanted to like it, but couldn't

I wanted to like Big Bus, but they made it hard. It was difficult to understand when the bus would begin running for the day. Also, knowing how often the bus would pick up at each location was unclear, and that matters when it's 90+ degrees outside. One bus we rode had no AC, so we could choose to sit in stifling heat in the shade of the lower deck, or in the blazing sun on the upper deck. The audio tour was poor. It continuously started, then stopped, then restarted. And at times, the audio was referring to some building or monument nearby, but the bus was filled with standees that you could not possibly see what the audio was referring to. Just not that impressed ...

Stranded in DC

It was better than walking between sites, however one of the busses we rode had the motor fall out near the FDR stop. We all had to exit and either wait for another bus or walk to the next stop. We chose to walk to the next stop and got a bus where the air conditioning was not working. Sitting in the top with no air was like sitting in a sauna. The next day we got in the same bus and the air was still not fixed. We all had to exit at the Spy museum exit where they made us exit and told us to switch busses. There was no other bus available so we got back on the unairconditioned bus. It was not the best experience.

Good Views

When we started out everything went well! When we got off we saw what we wanted to see and then we had a short walk back to the bus stop. After checking the ETA of the bus we saw one was due shortly!!! When it arrived it was leaning terribly to the right. It sounded like she had been driving it quite a bit like that. I started thinking about how safe that was. Everyone exited that bus and we had to wait for the next one. Didn’t take too long before the next one showed up. However, there were a lot of people boarding at once, anxious to get on. Not a pleasant experience.
