Start by passing by the James Blaine Mansion, the Embassy of Indonesia, the Cosmos Club, and the the Society of Cincinnati.

Then continue on to see the Embassies of Latvia and Turkey, and learn about the Washington élite that built the impressive structures as private homes. Pass Sheridan Circle and the Embassy of Cameroon before you see the former home of President Woodrow Wilson. 

Your tour takes you past DC’s own Spanish Steps, Mitchell Park, and the spot ‘The Hobbitt House,’ where Edward Lind Morse painted his famous inventor father.

Great for visitors AND residents! We took my parents and it was a great -socially distant- way to still be a tourist. We loved all the fun facts and the beautiful location. Sam was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

Great walking tour!

We figured this would just be another walking tour, but we were surprised. Carolyn regaled us with history, funny stories, little insider tidbits and architectural insights into the buildings we saw. We enjoyed the entire 2 hours and were only sorry that limited mobility of some of the people in the groups made us go so slowly that we didn't cover everything that was promised in the 2 hours. We look forward to doing other DC DesignTours with Carolyn (or her colleague) in the future.
