Your bike tour begins at your morning or afternoon meet-up time. After getting fitted for a bike in just your size, you’ll set off on a mellow 2-hour ride past blooming cherry trees and led by a professional guide.

Views along the way include the reservoir between the Potomac River and the Washington Channel, dubbed the Tidal Basin. In addition to exploring East Potomac Park, you’ll easily spot Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, and the George Mason Memorial.

The blossoming pink and white cherry trees make a marvelous photo backdrop. Snap photos while your guide explains how the many cherry trees in Washington DC came to be. The annual National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the longtime friendship between the United States and Japan.

Old Post Office Pavilion is the ending point of your tour.

Note: Peak cherry-blossom blooming dates are April 3-6, according to the National Park Service. If you book your tour before or after this blooming period, you’ll still enjoy some fabulous views and photo opportunities while learning interesting history on this nicely paced 2-hour spring bike tour of Washington DC.

Worth it!

This bike tour was excellent. Our tour guide Georgia was friendly and knowledgeable. From being fitted to our bikes to dropping them off it was a great experience. Seeing different points of interest and learning the history behind them is what we couldn't get if we did the tour on our own. The bikes were high quality and a great way to get around so we rented from the same shop the next day. It's less expensive than scooters and street bikes. Going during the pandemic meant that it was easy to bike around, not many "walkers" to avoid. We went at the end of the cherry blossom season so there really weren't blooms, thought about taking off a star for that - but it's still worth going. We brought our own helmets but they had them available. Staff is patient, answer all questions with kindness. Even if you don't take a tour, great place to rent bikes, and the location is excellent. We booked via Viator, which went well and I'd book through them again.

Nice! Only issue was that we have 2 people in our group with little experience riding a bicycle. I fell down once trying to avoid one of them. I can’t imagine what would be the situation if DC wasn’t as crowded as it was when we did our by i le tour.

I enjoyed the blossoms and the bike around the Basin with stops at the Monuments. One of the best parts is she took us through a 'Secret Garden' through the Smithsonian which I would have never known about. We ended up going back there when the tour was over.

A Short summary for this city

Nice way for a first timer to see this beautiful area!! Just gorgeous. Those without children, strongly recommend the 9:30 am the streets would be less packed than the 3pm tour. Hard to negotiate the sidewalks with the tourism and traffic of the city. Two people in our tour unfortunately when they changed the gears to the bicycle it totally fell apart and the guide would rush to help by replacing it with a city bicycle. He truly tried his best to accommodate. Informative tour, and would do it again, now that I know what to expect. I recommend it for a slow pace.
